- Bonus Episode: "Seeking Santa" is an extended episode exclusive to the Seeking Santa DVD.
- California Doubling: A nursery in Glasgow doubled as the Balamory Nursery, and Fenton Tower in North Berwick doubled as Archie's castle.
- Disabled Character, Disabled Actor: Kim Tserkezie is actually disabled in real life, and was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy when she was a child.
- Fake Scot: English actor Miles Jupp plays Archie, ironically the only character that wears a kilt.
- Missing Episode: The third and fourth seasons were taken out of reruns on CBeebies sometime in 2010 due to licensing issues. These were likely resolved after some Season 4 episodes were added to BBC IPlayer in September 2022 to celebrate the show's 20th anniversary.
- The Other Darrin: Kasia Haddad replaced Buki Akib as Josie Jump's actress from Series 3 onwards.
