• Blooper: In the Industrial Park level, one of the fish yell "My leg!" when Jellien Plankton shoots them with his Eye Beams. For inexplicable reasons, the yell sound plays at the moment the Eye Beam begins, meaning the fish is screaming about an injury he wouldn't have obtained yet.
• Development Gag: Mother Jellyfish was originally an enemy in Glove World before being cut. A cut-out of her unfinished model can be seen hanging on the wall in 3451 Anchor Way.
• In Memoriam: When the game begins, the game is dedicated to Stephen Hillenburg, Grandma Microwave, and "Our combined sanity". The game's end credits expand on this list.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Originally, the Anglers were Blue Jelliens with a security hat, a moustache and a flashlight.
  • Wormy was planned to be an enemy for the Sandy's Treedome level, where he would blind you with his infamous close-up with a chance of waking up Sandy.
