- Christmas Rushed: It was made in the span of 14 days and released merely two months before King Kong (1976) debuted. To call this film a quick cash grab is an understatement.
- Follow the Leader: To King Kong obviously. They do a bit of cashing-in on Jaws with the gratuitous addition of a giant shark for the ape to fight at the start of the movie (also doubles as a Take That!).
- International Co Production: Between Kukje Movies and the Lee Ming Film Co. (South Korea) and Worldwide Entertainment (USA).
- No Budget: It was made on a 23,000$ budget, and the results must be seen to be believed.
- What Could Have Been: According to the book Kong Unmade by John LeMay, Rick Baker was considered for the effects.
- Working Title: The New King Kong and later Super Ape.
