Night of the Animated Dead is an Animated Horror Movie by Jason Axinn.

The film is an Animated Adaptation of George A. Romero's Night of the Living Dead (1968), and as a result, is a Bloodier and Gorier take on the movie, which expands upon certain elements, such as showing moments between characters not present in the original, and even using Flashbacks to moments the original didn't have.

The movie was released on September 21st, 2021.

Night of the Animated Dead contains examples of:

  • Adaptation Expansion: In this version, we're shown a romantic moment between Tom and Judy, and a Flashback to where Ben got his truck.
  • An Arm and a Leg: There are some instances of zombies losing their hands.
  • And Then John Was a Zombie: Like in the original, when Helen goes down to the basement near the end, she discovers her zombified daughter Karen eating her husband. When Ben goes down later, he looks at Harry's corpse, which raises his head and arm in Ben's direction.
  • Animated Adaptation: Naturally, this is one of Night of the Living Dead (1968).
  • Ankle Drag: After killing a zombie, Ben drags it out of the house by its ankles.
  • Blood from the Mouth: Helen, when her undead daughter stabs her do death with a spade.
  • Bloodier and Gorier: The death and violence in this movie is much grittier than in the original, with the zombies getting holes blown through them, and their heads blown off.
  • Boom, Headshot!: Several zombies get bullets in their heads. Ben shoots the zombified Harry three times in the head. He also puts one in Helen's head for good measure.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: When Barbra describes the zombie who attacked her as "hugging her" and "tearing at her clothes", it can come off more like she was attacked by a rapist than by a flesh-eating ghoul.
  • Facial Horror: The zombies in the movie have more mutilated faces than in the original. One only has a single eye in its skull.
  • Fainting: Barbra does this after Ben slaps her to try and bring her to her senses.
  • Family-Unfriendly Death: Some of the deaths of the humans are much nastier than in the original.
    • Johnny is killed by having his head smashed against a headstone and bleeding out on the ground.
    • When Tom is trying to help Judy escape the truck, a few pieces of shrapnel whizz at them, tearing out a chunk of Judy's neck and tearing the top of Tom's head off.
    • We see Ben's death by bullet to the brain.
  • Fingore: When the men are fighting to get the zombies off the barricade, one of them grabs a knife to chop off zombie fingers... and hands.
  • Flashback: When Ben mentions how he got his truck from a diner, we're shown a scene of Ben finding the truck, and witnessing some of the char caused by the undead.
  • Get A Hold Of Yourself Man: When Ben tells Barbra that her brother is dead, she slaps him in response. He responds by slapping her back to try bringing her back to her senses.
  • Pipe Pain: Soon after showing up at the house, Ben uses a piece of L-Pipe to kill a few undead.
  • Title of the Dead: Well, a twist on it anyway, being Night of the Animated Dead and all.
  • Torso with a View: Several zombies get large holes blown in their bodies, through which the other side is visible.
  • Undeathly Pallor: The zombies have chalk white skin.
