Trivia / Anal Cunt

Go To

  • Accidentally-Correct Writing: "Rancid Sucks (And The Clash Sucked Too)" features the line "If Garth Brooks pierced his nose, he wouldn't be punk". The album in which it appeared (It Just Gets Worse) would end up getting released less than two months after Brooks released In the Life of Chris Gaines, in which Brooks performed under the namesake alter-ego character, an alternative rock singer, to critical and commercial disappointment.
  • Creator Breakdown: Seth Putnam's infamous coma occurred after a day of contemplating suicide.
  • Creator's Oddball
    • Picnic of Love is the exact opposite of what would be expected from Anal Cunt: tracks tending towards three minutes in length, acoustic guitar, falsetto vocals, and songs that are all sweetness and light.
    • Fuckin' A is a Hard Rock parody, more specifically Mötley Crüe. Lyrically it takes their usual Refuge in Audacity approach and applies it to the typical hard rock subject matter of sex, drugs, and rock and roll (song titles include "All I Give a Fuck About Is Sex", "Whiskey, Coke & Sluts" and "Crankin' My Band's Demo On a Box at the Beach").
  • Development Hell - Fuckin' A and Wearing Out Our Welcome barely got out of it, taking more than six years to make.
  • Died During Production: The band were working on new material right up to the point Seth Putnam died—prospective titles included The Same Old Shit, and at one point Wearing Out Our Welcome was implied to be a full-length album.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Only about fifty copies of Howard Is Bald were made. However, it is easily available on the internet, thanks to circulation of the album.
  • What Could Have Been: GG Allin was a fan of the band - even titling one of his own songs "Anal Cunt" - and was interested in collaborating with them, but he died of a heroin overdose before anything came of it.
  • Working Title: I Like It When You Die was intended to be called You're Gay, which would've effectively made "You're Gay" a Title Track.
