Tear Jerker / United 93

Go To

  • Beyond the subject matter of the movie dramatizing one of the most traumatic events in recent American history, the sheer panic and desperation in the voices of the passengers who know that they're about to die and want to let their families know that they are loved conveys the absolute tragedy of the attacks. By the time you actually see the passengers make their Heroic Sacrifice, there's barely a dry eye in the theater.
    • Jeremy Glick's call to his wife has him making her promise that their daughter Emmy, who is only 2 months old, will grow up knowing how much he loves her.
  • The crash of United 175 into the South Tower, doubles as Nightmare Fuel. Unlike United 93, the passengers and crew here never got the chance to fight back.
