While most of James "TheOdd1sOut" Rallison's videos were funny, there are a few sad moments.
- He and Boyinaband once wrote a song called "Life is Fun". While it generally has a message about optimism, Dave is being all negative. While James doesn't let Dave get him down, and it's kind of fun seeing the personality clash, and Dave says that he is not disallowing James to be positive or forcing him to think negatively, some of the things Dave says seem sad, including pointing out racism, poverty, how scary cancer is, and other stuff. He even says that life "only goes downhill".
- In "Our Hamsters", James talks about how all his hamsters are dead. Squeaks, Killer and Gumball died of natural causes, Pumpkin Seed had a mysterious death after just a month, Squeaks II and Buddy were "murdered" by Georgie the dog, and the Three Amigos died one by one.
- In a similar vein, "Our Cats" ends with James getting real and admitting that, back around Christmas 2017, his dog Georgie died. He hadn't admitted it on the channel prior to that point, feeling that his channel was too lighthearted for him to admit it when it happened.
- Not only that, but his other dog, Poppy, was so broken up by Georgie's death that his parents had to get her an emotional support dog, Jacks.
- In a similar vein, "Our Cats" ends with James getting real and admitting that, back around Christmas 2017, his dog Georgie died. He hadn't admitted it on the channel prior to that point, feeling that his channel was too lighthearted for him to admit it when it happened.
- In "Harry the Moth", said moth gets eaten by a bird just as he was being set free. It was sad for James and Faith, too.
