The Gray Garden is a very colorful game with adorable character designs and a general feel-good atmosphere. Which makes it all the more impactful wherever something goes wrong.
- The normal ending, with Ivlis destroying the Garden and turning it into a wasteland as Etihw (the only survivor) cries. It's even worse if you get it on your first try, without meaning to.
- The scene where Kcalb asks Yosafire why she bothered saving him. The very fact he asked is extremely sad.
- The flashback showing just why Yosafire is so afraid of flying. It's short, but seeing the most consistently cheery girl in the cast crumpled on the ground with her horn snapped in half is easily the saddest thing shown that far.
- The Mogeko comics, which show that part of the reason why Ivlis wanted to steal Kcalb's powers was to get revenge at his abusive father and his friends who laughed at him. After being defeated by Etihw and Reficul, the comics show that after the events of the game, Ivlis is still as miserable as before, still tormented by his friends, and apparently Satanick does....things to him. Yes, he was a jerk in the game, but he didn't deserve that.
