- Segata's last commercial, where he sacrifices himself to save the Dreamcast. What makes it even more tragic is that his sacrifice ends in vain, considering that the Dreamcast, while beloved, was the final nail in the coffin for Sega consoles. More saddening still is Sega's continued economic collapse, with the company eventually downsizing and shifting focus almost entirely on digital and mobile games.
- The Japanese woman in the office crying out Segata Sanshiro's name—her delivery sounds just so pained.
- What makes it less tragic is that he survives, as seen in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, though he appears to be trapped on top of that rocket. He also gets to kick more ass in Project × Zone 2. Less tragically as well, even if they come in different form, Sega still lived for more years instead of going completely bankrupt when other companies could be less lucky.
- This farewell from Hiroshi Fujioka is filmed in memoriam to Segata Sanshiro as he reflects on the role, ending with him telling all the viewers to find a magnificent future.
- Segata's sacrifice from his son's perspective. Nothing more heartbreaking than your father and mentor leaving to die for what he believes in. Seeing his gi fall from the sky really tugs at the heartstrings.
- The last ad for the 60th Anniversary was nothing short of bittersweet — it confirmed that Segata did indeed survive the rocket, but at the end came back to pull a Secret Test of Character on his son, then pass the mantle and finally challenged his son to throw him to the planet Saturn. It was then quickly revealed as All Just a Dream, and immediately followed by a Or Was It a Dream? moment to imply that it did happen. Sadly, there is no concrete evidence of Segata surviving this throw.
