Season 1
- Episode 1 establishes the tone of the silly comedy with action, but also Seven's own trouble at his lack of memory. Upon seeing a series of pictures depicting the groom and bride's life at a wedding, he pauses and wonders:Seven: Why don't I have any memories? What kind of person was I?
- This is even Harsher in Hindsight, knowing who Seven used to be.
- Episode 2 has the story between Meow Kitty and Mad Bark. The latter broke up with the former, knowing she wanted children, but they couldn't reproduce, never telling her to spare her the pain. So, Meow Kitty hires Seven to gouge his eyes out, thinking he fell in love with someone else. Now, it would be quite comedic, if it weren't for Mad Bark admitting the truth to her, making them both break down in tears, and the amazing love song [1] the episode ends with. And cherry on top, it's used as that episode's ending.
- It's hard not to feel bad for the panties guy of episode 4. For how weird he is, Seven is right that he's not harming anyone. He doesn't steal or creep on people, he buys or finds the underwear himself, and enjoys it within his own home. The worse he does it probably just letting it dry on his roof. Yet the Purity Committee still want him dead, and destroy his collection for no other reason that finding it gross. No wonder Seven got pissed.
- The ending sequence of episode 5 shows quite a touching montage of a mother raising her son, and assisting to the birth of her grandson to soft piano music and visuals. Hard to believe that same son wanted to kill her for the insurance money.
- Cola's episode is all fun and games... until The Reveal at the end. Knowing her cancer would eventually kill her, she preferred to commit Suicide by Assassin and die a flashy death people will remember than alone on a hospital bed. But things look up as Seven spares her life, and introduces her to the doctor that saved his own life.
- It also puts a lot of things she wanted to do into perspective. Eating at a fancy restaurant to not eat hospital food for once, giving a nurse a shot because Cola keeps getting shots from them, and kicking her ex-boyfriend after he dumped her for losing all her hair in chemo. Add onto that all the extreme sports and dumb things kids her age get to do, but that she couldn't because of her treatment.
- Dachun's Heroic Sacrifice to protect the island from STAN's missile. The closest anyone has actually been to dying at this point in the series. His earnest attempt to keep people safe moves Seven enough to confront the Prince Of Stan.
- Speaking of almost dying... Seven almost dying. While reciting the Arc Words of finding something to protect, he impales himself on his own scissors to take down the Prince of Stan. The show slows down as Seven hits the ground, leaving even Thirteen speechless.
- Xiao Fei jumping to Seven's side, and starting to jump on his chest as if to give him cardiac massage. And when the Prince Of Stan gets closer, Xiao Fei gets in between him and Seven.
Season 1 OVA
- They show you right away those OVAs aren't going to pull any punches with Thirteen. Easily the darkest episode at this point. Showing a young Thirteen yearning for her father's love, only to see it directed at her new baby brother, and leaving with her mother.
- They are attacked by enemies of her father, and Thirteen does her best to protect her mother, using all the techniques she learned in secret, but it's not enough, as another assassin stabs her mother to death. Thirteen is slammed to the ground, and she is left helpless, desperately calling to her father. She is then saved by Green Phoenix, who wipes the floor with the assassins, and she insists to take her with him, leading her to the path of the assassin we now know her as, seeking strength to Never Be Hurt Again.
- Continuing down the Troubled Backstory Flashback episodes is the King of Chickens trilogy. It opens in a chicken farm, and Dai Fei, Dai Bo's best friend, breaking the news that Xiao Fei's mom was eaten, and that he will eventually be too. So, he enrolled into cockfighting so his son would be raised as a fighter chicken, and not worry about being eaten. But to do so, he has to beat King Pheasant, or survive a fight against him for 15 minutes. The battle is tough, but Dai Fei holds out for Xiao Fei's sake, even surviving the beating inflicted by him by a drugged up King Pheasant, and passes the 15 minute mark! But it doesn't matter. The humans want blood, and let the fight continue. Dai Bo can only watch as his best friend is beaten to death under the cheers of the crowd. Under the harsh rain, Dai Bo picks up Dai Fei's sunglasses, and swears to protect Xiao Fei in his stead.
- Back to the present, Dai Bo lights a cigar and fills up an empty glass, which he trinks with his own, wishing his deceased friend a happy birthday, having been in the middle of telling the story to Xiao Fei.
- After finally escaping the chicken farm, Dai Bo and Xiao Fei arrive on Chicken Island to live peacefully. As they walk along the seaside, they spot something: A young man in dark clothing, bleeding to death from an open wound in his chest. Dai Bo, understandably hating humans for all they've done, tells Xiao Fei to walk away, and that he's not helping a human. But Xiao Fei insists, jumping on the boy's chest like a cardiac massage. Dai Bo sighs, drags the kid away from the water, and get him to a doctor. A bittersweet moment showing us how the two met Seven.
Season 2: The Mightiest Hairdresser
- The inner conflict Thirteen is going through during Episode 2 is obvious and harsh. She doesn't want to kill Seven, as she owns him her life, but she cannot disobey her master's orders. She is also aware that emotions are an assassin's worst enemy, and that what she's feeling is wrong. So, she attempts to write Seven off her life, but he instead saves her once again. She leaves, still conflicted and not without warning Seven of the impending danger.
