Being Darker and Edgier than the first movie and the series, these are bound to happen.
- The destruction of the Adventure City Headquarters. It was a massive blow for the characters and the audience.Chase: Our home...Zuma: Our vehicles...Marshall: It's all gone.
- Then the PAW Patrol are relocated to the Air Carrier Headquarters (which was seen at the beginning of the film) and, while it's played for laughs, Rubble states that he misses the old city HQ so much that he doesn't like sleeping in new places.
- Ryder having to (temporarily) cancel the Junior Patrollers program. Because of how dire the situation has become, he has to break the news to Nano, Mini and Tot, who wanted to join the PAW Patrol at the beginning of the film and Liberty really loved training them (even if the training has a bit... rough).Liberty: I'm telling you Ryder, these Puffballs are the real deal.Ryder: Liberty...we gotta end the Junior Patroller Program.Liberty: What?Ryder: It's too dangerous. Skye's superpowers have fallen into the wrong hands and we have no idea of what's coming.Liberty: But...the Puffballs can help! Sure, they're little, but I've heard you say "No pup's too small" a million times!Ryder: I know the Junior Patrollers mean the world to you. But for now, we need to keep them safe. That means we need to send them home. Do you want to tell them, or should I?Nano: Tell us what?(Liberty backs away, letting Ryder tell them the news)Ryder: Nano, Mini, Tot, I've got some tough news; I'm ending the Junior Patroller Program.Nano: What? No...Ryder: I'm sorry. Hopefully, we can start it again when things are safe.Nano: When is that gonna be?Ryder: (with a look of uncertainty on his face) I don't know...
- After Victoria steals Skye's crystal and leaves her powerless, Ryder asks Skye to stay behind from the mission to retrieve it. He only makes this decision because he's hoping to keep Skye safe while the rest of the pups retrieve her crystal for her (and the expression on Ryder's face, as he heads into the elevator, makes it clear he's not happy making this decision), but Skye misunderstands and thinks Ryder's asking her to stay behind because he's lost faith in her. So, to prove herself, she resorts to stealing all the other pups' crystals so she can get her crystal back all by herself (though she at least plans to return the crystals before anyone notices they're gone).
- Skye's backstory. She was always The Runt at the End, whether it be getting her share of food or getting picked for adoption. Sometime later she was left alone in a barn, and when she sees Ryder for the first time, she decides to go after him. There's just one thing; there's a blizzard happening outside and she nearly dies in the snow. It's a really good thing Ryder found her and took her in.
- Skye explaining to Chase what her life was like before Ryder recruited her as a member of the PAW Patrol.
Skye: When I was born, I was the runt of the litter. Do you what that means?Chase: That you were the smallest?Skye: The smallest and the weakest. […] It’s not easy being the smallest. You learn pretty early on that everything’s gonna be harder for you. When you’re smallest, you’re always picked last. And sometimes, you’re never picked at all. […] Eventually, I realized that if I wanted a better life, I needed to take matters into my own hands.- The music playing during the flashback? Christina Aguilera's Learning to Fly.
- The first verse of the song describes Skye's backstory to a tee:

Unsure who we'll become

Sometimes you feel like you're alone
That's when you learn to find you're strength
Every story needs a hero
Every hero needs a friend
But sometimes even heroes have to wait - This conversation when the flashback ends:
Skye: I shouldn’t even be in The PAW Patrol. Ryder didn't want another pup. And if he did, he sure wouldn’t have picked one as small as me.Chase: I had no idea…Skye: When I had superpowers, for the first time in my life I didn’t feel like the smallest and the weakest.- Earlier, when Ryder introduced The Junior Patrollers to the main team, Mini states that he's almost as tall as Skye, with her saying that she's the taller one, which results in Mini saying "But not for long!" It's Harsher in Hindsight when you realize that before joining the PAW Patrol, she was the smallest of a litter.
- Skye is also shown to have a bit of Height Angst as seen when Ryder notices Chase's suit having a tear in it and says that he's growing fast. When Skye asks if she's grown, Ryder says that she hasn't grown just yet, but will eventually catch up.
Ryder: All pups grow at their own speed.Skye: (mutters to herself) And some of us never grow at all. - The look of horror on Ryder’s face when Chase and Liberty go over a cliff.
- Skye's Heroic Sacrifice. After destroying the meteors, Ryder informs her that there's one last meteor coming and it's giant, she opts to try to destroy it by flying directly into it, despite the latter's pleas. When she makes the meteor go boom-boom, Ryder and the pups react accordingly. We then see her unconscious and fall into the ocean where she nearly drowns. Ryder and the other pups call out to her worryingly. Luckily, she survives and flies out of the ocean.
- Imagine what's going through Ryder's head during that time. Skye decides to ram through a giant hunk of space rock that could very likely kill her. He pleads to her not to do it, but she does it as it's the only way to save Adventure City, and he can only watch as she flies towards it. When the meteor explodes, he fears the worst: one of his pups, who are his friends and family, dying.
- When we see Skye's body float down to the ocean floor, we can still hear Ryder and the pups call out to her.Skye! Skye! Where are you?! Skye, where are you?!
