Arc 1

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/r23.PNG
  • The game starts with a happy memory of the gang making a ritual to enter Wonderland. Cue 20 years later, with the now adult gang living unfulfilled lives. Iggy is dealing with his asexuality, Genzou works in a mediocre bike shop, Orlam is pushed around by his coworkers, Gidget's modelling career has gone nowhere and Bucks's marriage is falling over. Growing Up Sucks indeed.
  • Orlam trying awkwardly to join Iggy and Genzou's conversation only to be ignored and jeered by the latter every time.
  • Hunar's reaction upon finding out Bucks ran away from home and took their daughter with her. Made worse by the reveal she killed the baby in order to live an idyllic life in Wonderland. And made even worse when Bucks can't enjoy her newfound peace, becoming a paranoid recluse who kills anyone that encounters her.
  • In their youth Gidget took into computer programming, possibly to bond with Iggy. She ends up becoming more talented than him, to the point he discouraged her from pursuing it further due to jealousy.
  • Orlam breaking down on the verge of hysteria when being mocked by Genzou. No matter how much he tortures him, Genzou keeps laughing, unrepentant about the shitty way he's treated Orlam all his life. Make sadder when it's revealed Orlam had feelings for Genzou and kept being at his side despite the mistreatment.
  • After escaping Orlam's castle and with Genzou mortally wounded, Iggy is forced to confront how grave his friends' issues are, noticing how he never really knew them. He then runs into a paranoid Bucks, who mortally wounds him. As he lays dying, he laments on how his friends were better off without his influence and wishes to be erased from existence.
    • What makes it worse? His friends are happier without him indeed. Genzou doesn't bully Orlam as much as before, Gidget isn't obsessed with him and Bucks doesn't marry Hunar due to Iggy not being there to interfere.

Arc 2

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot0004_6.png
  • Gidget is completely insensitive to Iggy being asexual, only caring about how he's "rejected her" for refusing to have sex with him. No wonder he feels like a freak for his fear of sexuality.
  • Genzou conforting Iggy after the latter had nightmares of Gidget molesting him. As he hugs him, Genzou kisses him and tries to go further, only for Iggy to reveal he's asexual. Understandably Iggy is afraid after Gidget's rejection. But Genzou? He doesn't mind, saying he'll accept Iggy no matter what. Doubles as a Heartwarming Moment
    Iggy: I'm sorry, I don't know what's wrong with me. Maybe I...maybe I just need more time. It's not that I don't like you, I....I think I like you....very much....but I just....
Genzou: Oh, is that all? You actually had me worried there for a sec. You think I care about that? Fuck, Iggs, I...to be honest I feel like I kinda always knew. But I don't care. I don't care about any of that. Just being with you is enough for me. More than enough for me.
    Iggy: You don't think I'm....broken?
Genzou: Fuck that! And fuck anyone that thinks that!
  • Orlam torturing Iggy, knowing it'll hurt Genzou by proxy. And it works. It's the only time Genzou isn't his snarker self, crying and pleading as Iggy is electrocuted and mutilated.
  • Genzou dying to protect Iggy from Bucks, all while Iggy is forced to watch, remembering their good times together.

Arc 3

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot0005_0.png
  • As if Orlam wasn't treated horribly by his friends, it's revealed even his family and coworkers find him creepy and unsettling.
  • Orlam revealing his self-harming tendencies to Iggy is really awful. Especially worse considering the state Genzou has left him in.
Orlam: I did it to myself, you know.
    Iggy: What do you mean?
Orlam: It's satisfying somehow. Watching all of that come pouring out of me. Like I'm washing myself clean. It's the only way to make all the bad thoughts go away...
Iggy: Fuck, Orlam, you can't....you can't....
Orlam: It's worse every time I see him. Every time I hope it'll be different. But it's always the same. All those feelings come rushing back. I wish I would just die.
  • Orlam's past gives a lot of reason as to why he does the things he does- his father was abusive and his mother killed herself because she couldn't take it. He keeps enduring the mistreatment of his friends, family and coworkers for years until he enters Wonderland and becomes an unrepentant cannibal and Evil Overlord due to the place giving him the freedom to act out his destructive fantasies. Orlam is well aware of what he's become, but he's given in to his repressed anger and he can't stop.
  • Genzou mocking Orlam for his mother's suicide and saying he should die too.
  • It's revealed Gidget is non-binary, having transitioned to female on the belief Iggy will love her this way. After his rejection, she goes into an angry tirade, rambling about how she hates what she's become.
Gidget: How could you, Iggy? Everything.....everything! I did EVERYTHING for you, Iggy!
Iggy: What are you talking about?
Gidget: Th....this stupid hair! I hate it! This stupid....stupid dress! I HATE IT!
    Iggy: Gidget, stop!
Gidget: And I hate these stupid fat lumps! But I thought you would, Iggy....you of all people! I gave up everything for you! I wanted to be perfect for you!
  • It's stated that Orlam's parents didn't allow him to have toys when he was a child. His bedroom in Wonderland? It's filled with toys.
  • The infamous Noodle Incident at prom. It's implied Genzou rejected Orlam romantically, causing the latter's resentment towards him.
    Orlam: E...everyone always....abandons me...First....first Brownie....the-then my mom.....and now even....even....Is there something wrong with me?
    • To make things worse, Arc 4 reveals that she convinced Orlam to go after Genzou so she could spent time alone with Iggy. Perhaps if she hadn't said that, things wouldn't have gotten so bitter between the two.
  • In the end, Bucks kills Orlam and once again, Iggy is forced to watch. Unlike last time, he freaks out and runs away, leaving Orlam to die alone. In despair, Iggy takes a sip of the corrosive river water (while noting it resembles the bleach Orlam used to self-harm) and drinks it to end the loop.

Arc 4

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot0002.png
  • The flashback to Gidget's childhood. Even though her friends are more understanding of her being trans, the other children mock her when she tries to use the girl's bathroom.
  • Despite his own feelings for Iggy, Genzou encourages him to go after Gidget.
  • Iggy confiding in Genzou about his asexuality and lamenting how he's defective and he'll never be able to have a normal relationship. Genzou can do nothing but hug him and reassure that Gidget will surely accept him.
I'll never be able to make her happy. I'll never be able to make anyone happy. No one would ever wanna be with someone like me.
    • To make things worse? Genzou was wrong and Gidget rejects him once she finds out the truth, even calling him defective, all while saying having sex will finally "fix him".
  • Genzou's speech to Iggy about how a couple should be able to share and accept each other's flaws. It's clear that Genzou is talking about his own feelings for Iggy, but Iggy doesn't pick up on it.
Just being with that person would be enough.
  • Iggy is sad upon seeing Orlam in the suit and dancing with him, even though, due to a case of the timeloop's Laser-Guided Amnesia, he doesn't have any memories of their relationship anymore.
What's more, the sight of him is doing strange things to my bowels. A fleeting gurgle of nostalgia perhaps. Nostalgia? Nostalgia for what? But even as my mind searches for an answer, my body seems to already know.
  • You'd expect that Gidget would be more understanding about Iggy's asexuality in her own arc. The answer is no. Due to her mother's high expectations, Gidget is obsessed with being recompensated with an ideal husband and life. Upon realizing Iggy has a fear of sexuality and won't be the ideal man she wants, she rejects him, leaving Iggy crying alone.
Gidget: We can make it work?! How?! I-I can't even touch you? I can't even lie with the man I love? I'm just gonna have to....to live like a nun for the rest of my life?! This can't be happening, this can't be happening....why is this happening?
    Iggy: G-Gidget, please, I...we....
Gidget: And after everything I've done! To....to be perfect for you....so you'd want me....That was apparently all pointless, huh? You'll never want me anyway, huh? Wow! What a shocker! You sure know how to make a girl feel special, Iggy.
Iggy: Gidget, s-stop, it's not like that....
  • Genzou being chopped and fed into the meat Orlam gives Iggy and Gidget for breakfast. Iggy immediately figures it out and goes hysterical over everyone realizing that they've been eating his dead friend.
  • Unlike previous timelines, Genzou does admit he ruined Orlam's life and says he deserved what happened to him. He tries to confess to Iggy with his dying breath, only for Iggy to Mercy Kill him so he won't suffer anymore.
  • Gidget doesn't seem too apalled about Orlam and Genzou's deaths. But when Cecil sacrifices himself to give her and Iggy time to escape Orlam's castle, she's crying his name.
  • Like in all timelines, Bucks kills Iggy and his love interest. Despite Gidget forcing herself on Iggy and refusal to accept him, he still mourns her, apologizing for not being the ideal man she deserved.

Arc 5

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/423.PNG
  • Everyone's reactions to remembering what happened in previous timelines.
    • Seeing the once carefree Genzou turn into a Nervous Wreck after remembering his deaths, Iggy's suffering and the gang's actions. He plunges into a near-catatonic state to the point that he needs Iggy to always be around and feed him. He later realizes how much of a burden he is and forces himself to act cheerful, but his fear is still palpable.
    • We finally see Hunar's reaction to Bucks's massacre is- it's far from pretty, the poor guy is scared and confused, begging for Iggy to put some sense back into her. The real kicker is him admitting that maybe if he hadn't convinced her to quit her sporting career to become a housewife she would be happier.
    • Gidget realizes that she'll never get intimate with Iggy, so she decides to forget about him and find a perfect life on her own....by making a harem of Iggy dolls and becoming a Control Freak.
    • The emotional strain of the failed timelines affected Orlam so much that he ripped his own heart so he won't have to feel any more pain, becoming an emotionless zombie and subjecting the rabbit soldiers to the same fate.
    • Bucks mutates into a giant dinosaur, resigning herself to be the monster everyone thinks of her.
  • Iggy finally finds out who's the voice that's been whispering "Please kill me, Iggy" since the start of the game. It's none than Saydie herself. She's just a baby. Plus the fact that she seems to be aware her parents resent her for ruining their marriage.
  • The fact that it's Cecil that's the only thing that seems to get through to Gidget is especially tragic in its own right. The fact that not even her beloved Iggy would be enough to get her to realize what she's doing is wrong, it's her finally getting someone that sincerely cares for her that manages to crack through things. Too bad it's far too late to stop things, and Cecil dies before Gidget finally decides to change her ways.
  • Jerry's Heroic Sacrifice so the gang can get to Orlam.
  • The truth of the Noodle Incident between Orlam and Genzou is quite tragic. After his parents' divorce, Genzou falls into depression and decided to use Orlam as a Living Emotional Crutch, even starting a semi-romantic relationship. Once he got better, Genzou broke off the whole thing, leaving Orlam alone and used.
  • Bucks was treated as The Dreaded due to her short temper and being a tomboy, and it's clear even her friends were scared of her even after she goes off the deep end. She could cope with it...until Hunar was horrified with how much of a distant mother she was to their child. While it's not justified, it's no wonder she hated Saydie, feeling abandoned by the one she cared the most.
  • The Bittersweet Ending itself. Iggy destroys the Wishing Tree, resulting in a new timeline when they're children again, allowing the gang to not repeat the same mistakes they did in the other timelines and lead much happier lives... but as a consequence of time being reset, the bond and experience shared between the gang is erased. While it's definitely not as bittersweet as it could have been, there's still some tears to be had.
    • At the end, Iggy mentions that despite the gang being more mentally stable, there were a few things that inetably happened. Such as Gidget's mother being too perfectionist, Orlam's father being abusive, Orlam's mother dying and Genzou's parents divorcing.
    • Even after the timeline itself resets to give the gang and their friends a happy ending, there is still one casualty — Saydie. Because Bucks and Hunar chose not to get married, it causes her erasure, though her conscience is still alive as Iggy's doll. The main cast loses her memories, but at least they survived. The real Cecil is still around and it's implied Jerry is reborn as a human — Saydie doesn't even get that much.
