Gone but not forgotten.
  • In the first episode, Mariam is violently beaten by Layan and her gang. On top of that, Layan spreads a rumor that Mariam sexually assaulted her in the locker room, and manipulates the school board and the students to side with her. To make matters worse, Noaf, who witnessed what really happened, refuses to say anything. This results in Mariam getting suspended for two weeks, her mother screaming at her and going through her things, believing she has been too lenient with Mariam, and finally Mariam being forced to go to therapy. After all this, it's little wonder that she still insists and continues to go through with her plot for revenge.
  • Considering how a later scene seems to imply that Ruquaya is The Unfavorite at home, it's no wonder that Mariam, Noaf and Dina are able to trick her into sending a hijab-free picture for them to leak by posing as a mysterious boy and making Ruquaya feel seen and special.
  • When Ruquaya's hijab-free photo is leaked to the internet, her mother forbids her from going to any school. While driving her home, Ruquaya's mother berates her for ruining her reputation. To make things worse, Ruquaya's mother forbids her from seeing her friends. Even when they come to visit her, she rudely turns them away. Ruquaya tearfully watches the whole thing from her windowsill, unable to do anything about it. She shouts tearfully at her mother for turning them away, to which her mother snaps at her that now that the good name of their family has been ruined, her sisters don't stand a chance at marriage either. Ruquaya falls back on her couch and begins to sob agonizingly.
  • In Episode 5, Mariam's mental health begins to suffer. While she is in the shower, Layan spies on Mariam taking her medication, rifles through her backpack and finds her diary entries about her struggles with her mental health. Layan leaks and photocopies the diary entries, causing the other girls to shame Mariam, and harass her in the bathroom. This causes Mariam to have a mental breakdown later in the episode.
  • A man harasses Noaf in the spa pool, but Noaf is too shocked and scared to say anything to Miss Abeer about the incident, and Miss Abeer blames the girls for showing so much skin.
  • As we get to see more of Layan throughout the show, including her saving Noaf from the old man who harassed her and calling out Ms. Abeer for unfairly putting the blame on Ruqqaya for the incident at open day, it's clear that much of the anger she takes out on the others at school comes from the repression she and her friends face at home simply for being women. Despite this not being an excuse for her actions, it is still hard to watch.
  • Noaf tries to talk Mariam out of enacting her revenge, but Mariam, past the point of no return, instead takes this as Noaf and Dina betraying her, and continues with her plan regardless of the consequences. Mariam is blinded by revenge, but one can't blame her for feeling that her friends abandoned her for the second time, especially when they refused to stand up for Mariam at the beginning.
  • As Mariam sees Rania get in trouble for sneaking out during the school trip, Noaf glares at her from across the hallway. Mariam's face is full of regret. Her revenge ended up costing her her closest friends, yet in the next episode, she chooses to pursue it anyway.
  • Layan's demise: Layan begs for Hazem, her own brother, not to shoot her, pleading for him to think of their parents and their family. Slowly, Layan realizes that Hazem isn't going to spare her, and simply closes her eyes and accept her fate. Worse, Layan's story mirrors the stories of many girls murdered in honor killings, killed by their own families for supposedly "dishonoring" the family.
  • A haunting, solo version of the Al-Rawabi school anthem plays over the end credits, its' somber tone reflecting how tragically everything turned out.

Season 2

  • Farah's situation in general. It's clear throughout the season just how much Farah admired Tasneem, her cousin, for being smart and popular and Tasneem never really takes the time out of her day to say anything remotely nice to her. Farah even calls her out for it, in episode 5 after seeing how Tasneem never spoke to Sarah after the video got out, proving once and for all that she never cared for anybody else besides from herself (and Hiba, and even that falls apart severely).
    • It gets (somehow) even worse in episode 6, where, after being so excited to finally, FINALLY have her time to shine in Tasneem's performance, she is essentially kicked out and forced to do light and sound design. Tasneem tries to let her down gently, spouting excuses before one girl fatshames her and Hiba blatantly says they don't want her. It's extremely saddening to watch this girl be pushed away, which makes her cross her Despair Event Horizon and, combined with how Shams' documentary humiliated her in front of the whole school, leads to her taking her own life, which Hiba does NOT take well.
  • In Episode 4, the whole of season 1's cast comes together to organise a candlelight vigil in Layan's memory. Including Mariam, the girl who indirectly murdered her, who starts crying almost as soon as she shows up. Layan even shows up herself, albeit only as a figment of Rania's imagination. The segment even ends with a message stating "To all the Layans in the world." refering to just how many girls are murdered to preserve their family's "honour". It really hurts to see all these girls still absolutely destroyed, never really recovering from Mariam's bitter revenge, which is also but a consequence of their own actions (or inaction), showing how damaging a Vicious Cycle of abuse can be and how it can circle out and back in the worst way possible.
  • In the 5th episode, after Sarah's video is leaked, her life basically falls apart. Throughout the episode, it shows just how many of the people around her (including her parents) are shaming her, including when Marwa and her gang beat on the door of the bathroom stall she's hiding in and repeating how she is "disgusting" and how she should be ashamed of herself. The fear and embarrassment that she must feel, especially since it really was only for money at the beginning. It's difficult not to feel for her, especially since her brother, Jawad, gets arrested due to stabbing somebody with a compass over the video.
  • Sarah asks her mother for her phone so she can communicate with Jawad. Her mother not only refuses, but also blames her for the family's suffering. Sarah clearly feels guilty and responsible for what happened to Jawad.
  • While dying, Farah experiences a brief Imagine Spot where she finally gets to perform on the Al Rawabi school stage to applause and praise from everyone, including Tasneem. The episode then cuts to a final, lone shot of the microphone on the stage, with nobody there to sing into it.
