Like many other Abridged Series, this pays homage to several other series, and in one episode, lampshades the entire concept of—COMPLETELY. ORIGINAL. CONCEPT.
Episode 1
- Sonic's counterattack against the robots chasing him:Narrator: SPINDASH'D!Badnik: Oww, my artificial intelligence!
Episode 2
- GLaDOS and the turrets frequently make vocal cameos.
- The episode also has Solid Snake call Sonic on his codec.
- Chris asks Sonic what the scouter says about their power level.
Episode 3
- Memories All Alone in the Moonlight plays when Amy is reminiscing about the life she lived.
- Eggman tells Knuckles his favorite song by Queen.
Episode 4
- Lampshading the fact that Super Sonic was inspired by the Super Saiyans where they float and glow with power:Chris: Don't you think it sounds slightly reminiscent of Dragon Ba—
- The usual intro was replaced with Dragon Soul to punctuate the joke.
- And in The Stinger, this came:
- There's this:Construction worker: Fine, but if I find out that there's a dancin' frog buried under here, you'll be hearing from the union!
Episode 5
- Sonic apes a couple of lines from Bugs Bunny - first, after having the message from Knuckles blow up in his face, he mutters "I hope you realize, this means war..." Then, when he first confronts Knuckles, he quips "Ehhh, what's up, Knux?"
- The insult Sonic uses to goad Knux into making the first punchKnuckles: I've had enough of you, Hedgehog!! It's time to reclaim my glory, and the only way to do that, is by kicking your spikey BUTT!!Sonic: How? By telling your pet dinosaur to eat me? Please!
Episode 6
- Chuck talks about Mrs. Thorndyke being so in-demand, that every rehab facility waits for her to slip up. Especially in recent times, Does This Remind You of Anything?Chuck: And his mom's one of the most in-demand stars in Hollywood—even the rehab facilities have to fight over her!
- When Stewart is trying to get his class back...Stewart: Yes, I know we're downtown and technically not in a neighborhood...RRRGH! Damn you, neighborhood watch committee!
- There's a certain code which activates E-51's personality wipe. But instead of sitting in a chair, becoming a blank slate, you just have to say a certain set of numbers:Eggman: I'm just re-setting your personality and effectively removing everything that makes you an individual.E-51: Heh, well, since you put it like thwhaaaaaa—!?Eggman: E-51, access default emotional settings. Episode 7
- Sonic gets a feeling of déjà vu when he encounters a broken bridge over a chasm, because of what happened to Rainbow Dash in Camaraderie is Supernatural.
Episode 9
- You can make a Freeze-Frame Bonus out of the fact that Chuck changed the channel from a JUNES commercial to the local news, a nod to most of their cast also starring in Persona 4 The Abridged.
- Amy's berserker mode is one huge tribute to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
