- A Faunus with white lion's ears, who goes by the name of Kimba? Now where have we heard that before?
- Darrel's tormenting of Cardin ends with "Oh, don't be such a baby. Leg bones grow back!"
- A group of unknown voices end their conversations with "May our Founders safeguard us on the path to enlightenment." Sounds familiar? It should.
- Apparently, Yang thinks Earth is a terrible name for a planet, and suggests "Dirt" as an alternative.
- And who could forget this gem?[As Darrel hangs onto a log going down a river, he sees the water begin to mist, and hears a loud roar.]
Darrel: Don't tell me. I'm about to go over a huge waterfall.

Darrel: Bring it on. - The vision that the Fragment of Arcadia grants Darrel at the end of Chapter 26 may remind one of the Precursor's backstory of Assassin's Creed.
- Chapter 31 contains an investigation into Tukson's murder. Funnily enough, the chapter is titled "The Clang".
- Chapter 33 has Darrel panicking over the upcoming dance. The chapter title is lifted straight from Chicken Run.
- Yang's Non Sequitur, *Thud* moment is lifted from JARVIS in Iron Man 3.Yang: I seem to do quite well for a stretch, and then at the end of a sentence, I say the wrong cranberry.
