References to other IPs in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous.

  • One of the Sunrise Sword paladins in the Reliable Redoubt shouts out his praise to Sarenrae (the Sun goddess) with a... familiar gesture.
  • When trying to intimidate you into returning his wand, Zacharius threatens you by snapping his fingers and saying "I am inevitable."
  • Greybor is a Dwarf Slayer wielding dual axes who prefers to pursue only the biggest, nastiest enemies. Also there's a potential Crusade event that sees you dealing with a group of soldiers, the Dead Mens' Club, who want to take what are effectively Slayer oaths.
  • The Skeletal Merchant suggests his unfortunate story could be made into a tragic tale, and suggests the title Undeath of a Salesman.
  • Blackwater is a (Kickstarter backer-written) Magitek dungeon inspired by the Worldwound setting's proximity to Numeria, and as such has a number of references to Science Fiction:
    • The first group of Cyborg soldiers you meet greet you with spiels strongly resembling those of both the Borg and the Cybermen.
Augmented Grunt 1: Your defeat is certain. You will be overpowered. You cannot prevail. Capitulate.
Augmented Grunt 2: Resistance is futile. You cannot prevail. Capitulate.
Augmented Grunt 3: Surrender. Voluntary modernization is less painful than the alternative.
    • You can find a familiar sci-fi-looking helmet belonging to "The Abyss Slayer", a legendary warrior forever doomed to slay endless hordes of demons. "It has no magical property but it looks formidable."
  • One of Ember's battlecries is "I won't let you hurt my friends!" Aerie from Baldur's Gate II, also a young blonde elf and hybrid arcane/divine caster (a winged elf whose wings were ripped off and the wounds cauterized, not unlike Ember's burnt hands), would often stammer "I won't let my friends be hurt!" when a fight broke out.
  • The game features its own kobold bard. In direct contrast to Neverwinter Nights' breakout Sidekick Creature Nuisance Deekin Scalesinger, however, Crinukh is not played for cuteness, speaks Common well even by non-kobold standards, and doesn't join the party, instead preferring to maintain his distance while hinting at upcoming threats to the Crusade.
  • Act V's return to the Old Sarkorian Mines is one big homage to Fallout: the underground bunker dwellers of Mineshaft 14 all wear the same blue overalls as their forefathers, have only been forced back out into the open by the failure of their water supply, and the mine is sealed with a vault door in the shape of a rolling stone cog with Golarian numerals in the center. Their foreman is a bearded old man named Jarocen; the name of Vault 13's Overseer, given in concept art, is Jacoren. One of the oldest survivors from before the mine was sealed recently died, a druid who had a tree growing out of his head, like the old ghoul Harold in the Hub; the druid's tree is still growing out of his grave even after his death. Ambient conversation includes people bartering with bottle-corks. Finally, the fight at the Shrine of the Three is a mandatory turn-based battle, and while not locked to an actual hex grid, the central chamber is in the shape of a giant hexagon, divided up by chest-high walls and daises also in the shape of hexes.
  • You can get a ring that covers you in glitter from a fake vampire.
  • At the location Crimson Dust, you encounter a smashed wagon with dead crusaders. One is apparently crawling around. Talk to him, and he bursts out of his skin into a giant skinless monster called Sinful Sinew — mechanically an (unusually powerful) ecorche, but it looks exactly like a titan.
  • The Inquisitors army unit is depicted with a broad-brimmed conical hat that is a sigil away from being Warhammer 40,000 cosplay.
  • NPC conversations overheard in the Half Measure tavern include punny shout-outs to Pacific Rim and A Game of Thrones.
  • In the Forest of Forgotten Spirits, you can rescue a band of "spirit catchers". As thanks they give you a license with a ghost represented by a green blob with eyes on it.
  • If after defeating Ygefeles' shadow you confront Hepzamirah with Woljif in your party, he briefly misquotes The Princess Bride.
Woljif: "Woljif Jefto's the name. You killed my grandpa. I'm here to seek vengeance...Ugh, that's no good. Can I try again?"
  • The Shifter's Claws ability cause three long bone claws to emerge from in-between your knuckles like Wolverine.
