  • The episode "Goo Goo Gas" first aired in Germany and Latin America almost two years before it aired in the US (Germany aired the episode in November 2007, but the US didn't air it until July 2009). It would later air in 2008 in several other countries as well, including Canada, South Africa, and the UK. Heck, it was even released on DVD nine months before it premiered.
  • Four episodes late in the seasonnote  were released on TurboNick on November 21, 2007. They aired on TV two days later.

  • The episodes "Unreal Estate/Code Yellow", "The Incredible Shrinking Sponge/Sportz?" and "Feral Friends/Don't Wake Patrick" (the finale) all have aired in Nickelodeon Israel in March, July and August of 2017. To make matters worse for US, the channels having an English track (Nickelodeon Russia and Nickelodeon Spain) also aired the last two pairs, meaning people have heard the English audio before the US. In the case of Russia, "The Incredible Shrinking Sponge/Sportz?" reruns have been removed from the schedule after 2 weeks since the original airing, and they resumed only a year later.

Season 11

  • "There's a Sponge in My Soup", "Man Ray Returns", and "Larry the Floor Manager" aired in Spain and Portugal in September 2017, before their US airdates.
  • "Sanitation Insanity" and "Bunny Hunt", aired in Spain, Portugal, and Turkey before their US airdates, on March 21, 2018. The latter segment aired in the USA on March 30 of the same year, but the former didn't air until May 7, all in the meanwhile airing in other countries before the US, including in Germanynote , most Central & Eastern Europe countriesnote , Francenote , and Israelnote  (in that order) as well, before the United States. In the United States, the episode got released on Amazon Video and Google Play early on April 21, alongside its sister segment.
  • "Shopping List", has been aired in Nickelodeon Israel on July 4, 2018 and was released in the US in September. Same goes to four episodes which aired in Russia along with the English track on July 26 and 27: "Whale Watching", "Krusty Kleaners", "Patnocchio" and "ChefBob"; they weren't even scheduled to air in the US at the time!

Season 12

Season 12 is notorious among the fandom for having a bad case of this; thanks largely due to the episodes airing extremely out-of-order, more so than any other season of the series, as well as long gaps between airdates (especially towards the end of the season), roughly three-quarters of the season have aired in at least one non-US country in some way, shape, or form. Additionally, the entire season note  was released on DVD on January 12, 2021, well before several episodes premiered in the US.
  • "Gary & Spot" mistakenly aired in the United Kingdom at 4 AM on March 16th. It didn't officially premiere in the United States until July 27th. And before that, in February, its full animatic had been leaked for a few hours (then unofficially re-uploaded).
  • "Pineapple RV" is infamous for this. It premiered in Poland on May 28, 2019, and aired in America over a year later on July 17, 2020. Many other countries had got it earlier, too.
  • In early June 2019, the UK and Ireland premiered some episodes that wouldn't air in the US until later. This includes "King Plankton" and "Stormy Weather" (US premiere: June 22nd), "Sandy's Nutty Nieces" (US premiere: June 29th), and "The Krusty Bucket" (US premiere: August 10th).

  • "Swamp Mates" and "One Trick Sponge" aired in Russia on December 12, 2019. They didn't premiere in the United States until April 11, 2020, and even "Swamp Mates" was aired on Nickelodeon UK two months prior, on February 25, 2020 (also the first time the episode was released in English).
  • "Squid's on a Bus" premiered in Russia on July 27, 2019. It wasn't released in the US until September 28th.
  • "Jolly Lodgers" and "Biddy Sitting" were briefly available on Amazon Prime for a few minutes on July 31, 2019. "Biddy Sitting" premiered in the US on February 8, 2020, with "Jolly Lodgers" a month later on March 7, 2020.
  • "SpongeBob's Big Birthday Blowout" got leaked on Amazon and Canada on July 11, 2019, and it aired in the US a day later. A minor case, but considering it's a major Milestone Celebration, this meant it was spoiled beforehand.
  • "SpongeBob in RandomLand", "SpongeBob's Bad Habit", and "Handemonium" aired in the UK and Italy on September 11-13, 2019. The first two would air in the US on September 21, with "Handemonium" two months later on November 23.

  • "Pat Hearts Squid" had its US premiere on July 9, 2021. Despite that, it had been released on DVD in January, and aired in foreign countries throughout 2020 and early 2021.
  • "Lighthouse Louie" first premiered in South Korea on February 7, 2020, almost a year before its US airdate (January 18, 2021). In February, it was found on the Nickelodeon CDN in English and HD.
  • "Hiccup Plague" was first released on Nick Israel's website on July 1, 2020 (alongside the remainder of season 12), and its first television premiere was in Greece on September 28, 2020. It didn't air in the US until April 22, 2022. Many other season 12 episodes, such as "Plankton's Intern", "Bubble Bass's Tab", "Kooky Cooks", "Krusty Koncessionaires", and "Dream Hoppers" were also first released on Nick Israel.
  • "A Cabin in the Kelp" had an unannounced premiere on Italy on September 6, 2019. It aired in America on October 12.

  • "Goofy Scoopers" first premiered in Canada on November 28, 2021, three months before its US airdate of February 25, 2022. It aired even earlier in November in Russian, too.
  • "Squidferatu" and "Slappy Daze" both aired a few hours early in Latin America, on the same day as their United States premieres.
  • The three Tidal Zone episodes ("Welcome to Binary Bottom," "You're Going to Pay...Phone," and "A Skin Wrinkle in Time") were released on Paramount+ Germany on January 12, 2023, a day before their US premieres.
  • "Abandon Twits" was leaked on November 18, 2022 in Brazil, before it had a US airdate scheduled. It then released on Paramount+ Germany on January 12, 2023, and aired in Italy a day later. It eventually premiered in the US on January 20th.
  • "Wallhalla" was released on Paramount+ Germany on January 12, 2023, and premiered in Italy the day after. It wouldn't reach the US until January 20th.

Other media

  • The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run was set to release in theaters in May 2020, but in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak it had its release delayed to early 2021, and it chose to forgo a theatrical release entirely in favor of premiering on VOD services including Paramount+, like many other animated films at the time. This does not hold true for the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Canada, where the film still got a theatrical release on August 13th (for the former two)/14th (for the latter), 2020, and pretty much the rest of the world, where the film went available on Netflix starting November 5, 2020.
