Pantheon Proposals I Haven't Suggested Yet

Black Eyes of Crazy seems like a tough trope to make a god for, because it's hard to emphasize the 'black eyes' as much as the 'crazy'.

Still, I might as well try and pitch the Girlfriend's parents from Friday Night Funkin'.

Reason: Their eyes are pitch-black voids with gleaming red sparks for pupils, and they have a manic obsession with ruining the Boyfriend that goes straight past villainous and right into the realm of batshit insane.

  • Example 1: According to Word of God, the events of the game aren't in the exact order of the Weeks. When Dad couldn't stop the Boyfriend from dating the Girlfriend in Week 1, he took a hit out on the Boyfriend by sending Pico after him for Week 3, then when Pico decided 'Screw the Money, I Have Rules!', Mom took on the Boyfriend in Week 4. On the back of a high-speed limo.
  • Example 2: Afterwards, while inviting the Boyfriend over to their haunted mansion in Week 2, they allowed Skid, Pump, and the Lemon Monster into their house, presumably just because they knew it'd give Boyfriend trouble. (Note: The Monster's song is Dummied Out, but was originally planned to be the third song of Week 2, so it would've happened in the story).
  • Example 3: When fought together on Week 5, Dad is holding a mall Santa at gunpoint while the parents sit together in Santa's chair. The entire time.
  • Example 4: The situation is constantly changing because the game is still in development, but as of writing this, the #1 act of dickery goes to the events of Week 6, in which Dad saw Boyfriend and Girlfriend playing a dating sim and shoved them into the game world - note that Girlfriend is his daughter - to make them face off with Senpai, who harbors the spirit of a previous suitor/victim. Whether the Spirit deserved to be trapped in the game or not is entirely unknown, but the fact that Dad presumably knowingly forced both Boyfriend and Girlfriend to confront it points to him not being right in the head... and just being an evil and petty douche.

You Didn't Ask for This

YMMV Section for YMMV tropes:

  • Broken Base: OWW. Whether the Adaptation Personality Change of characters not native to OWW are funny or plain annoying is a highly controversial subject.
  • Fridge Brilliance:
    • OWW 552 and 553 Bonus Panel are behind-the-scenes of the Film Fic arc, like how YDAFTFC started as a [Backstage] of the main comic.
    • Corey's Art Shift in KC 039 is based on Enel's infamous "Damn, Daniel" face. Both Enel and Corey have electric abilities.
    • Honey's lore states that her blindness is due to a head injury, which leads to the following:
      • The incident has damaged her occipital lobe, which is why she doesn't act like she's blind at all unless for a prank - her Disability Superpower is an exaggerated case of cortical blindness played for coolness.
      • However, Fridge Horror also applies when you also consider her more volatile personality - the occipital lobe may not be the only part damaged.
    • The existence of Rage Form and Lily’s sudden change from Shrinking Violet to Ax-Crazy (at least when under the Sucky School curse) is also rife with Fridge Horror:
      • We don’t know why Lily thinks a One-Winged Angel made from negative emotions is necessary.
      • The severity of the curse - just how bad is it for people to start developing Superpowered Evil Side to survive?
      • Lily’s Staircase Tumble gave her a head injury alongside the more noticeable lung and leg dysfunctions. Is the injury bad enough to lead to frontal lobe damage that affects her personality?
      • This also means Rage Form is a Disability Superpower of a mix of emotional and behaviour disorders, and not always Played for Laughs.
  • Memetic Mutation: Is it really a surprise that a network of fanworks that incorporate memes into the comics would have their own memes?
    • Mayris’s coffee
    • “Crikey!”
    • “Too many characters”
      • “Too many dragons”
    • “Update: Still in ice…”
    • Akyuu 2
    • Hax Man
