- Noir contains a visual shout-out to Zardoz of all things: the word 'Noir' in print (diegetically) is often 'bubbled' across the screen in the same way that 'Zardoz' was.
- The English dub of Voltes V from the Philippines changed the name of primary antagonist Prince Heinel into Zardoz for some reason.

- Power Girl: Vartox was originally based on Sean Connery, with his appearance taken from the movie Zardoz and his over-the-top machismo from Connery himself.
Film
- Excalibur: Also from director Boorman; the scene of Morgana giving birth to Mordred is staged similarly to the scene of Consuela giving birth.
- Oblivion (2013): There are nods to Zardoz, with protagonists who stumble upon a library in the ruins of civilization which catch their interest, and one particular book they find becomes important. And an A.I. in both films boasts that it is "God".

Web Original
- When Moviebob reviewed A Wrinkle in Time (2018) he found it a movie he wished he liked more than he actually did. Given that the book has a reputation for being practically unfilmable given its esoteric story and themes and heavy reliance on metaphor, he wasn't entirely surprised that it didn't fully work; for better or worse, it reminded him of a kids' version of John Boorman's Mind Screw-y genre films like Zardoz.
Western Animation
- Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends: In the episode The Bloo Superdude and the Great Creator of Everything's Awesome Ceremony of Fun That He's Not Invited To, Bloo attempts to go to Mac's birthday party despite being sick and delirious, which causes him to hallucinate everyone and everything he encounters as the Bloo Superdude as something else. When he finally reaches Mac, Bloo hallucinates him as a giant, floating stone head resembling Zardoz. He even paraphrases Zardoz's most infamous line:"The fun is good! The dude is evil!"
- Rick and Morty:
- The episode "Raising Gazorpazorp" includes the Zardoz head delivering gynoids for the male Gazorpians to mate with.
- The Simpsons:
- In "Halloween Of Horror", Superintendent Chalmers dresses as Zed on Halloween.
- In "The Clown Stays In The Picture", Krusty's film version of The Sands Of Space is inspired by several sci-flops of the 1970s and 1980s, like Zardoz.
