• The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You: When Nano accepts Mimimi's challenge in Chapter 39, the former is dressed like Klara, while Rentarou and Shizuka are dressed like Heidi and Peter, respectively. The latter two are also drawn in the same art style as this anime.
• Kazama from Crayon Shin-chan is secretly a fanboy of the Heidi anime, as revealed in an episode where he bought a Heidi dress and wig online to cosplay as the character. Shin-Chan as usual peeps into his room unannounced, much to Kazama's horror.
• Gintama has an episode were Hasegawa is put to trial for peeping on girls with some alien tech binoculars and Gintoki pretends to be a lawyer in order defend him in court. If you now wonder why a Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney parody is doing here it is that each time they dig themselves deeper they imagine themselves as Heidi's animals, as she slowly drags them to hell with her. While the creators of the Heidi anime weren't too fond of this, the episode was popular with people that liked Heidi in their childhoods.

• The Italian dub of the 1977 Toei Animation feature film Sekai Meisaku Douwa: Hakuchou no Ouji (an anime version of The Wild Swans) renames the heroine, Elisa, as Heidi, likely because she bears a very strong resemblance to the TV anime version of Heidi.
• The opening of Super Milk Chan, which features Milk swinging above the Swiss Alps, references the opening of this.
• In the Pokémon: Master Quest episode "Hatch Me If You Can", Jessie and James appear disguised respectively as Heidi and Peter. Some dubs, like the Italian and Latin American ones, also took the ball and had them make references to the show during their motto (The Italian one adds quotes from the Italian theme song, while the Latin American one talks about "Protecting world from Mrs. Rottenmeier")
• In Battle of the Three Kingdoms, a parody of Heidi occurs as a gag with Luncheon as Peter.

• Mother 2: "Fill in the name of this popular anime: ____di of the Alps. " The choices are hai (yes) and iie (no).
• The arcade game Frogger uses a part of the opening theme^note Specifically, the second yodeling part. as one of the little jingles that play when the player gets a frog to one of the homes at the top of the screen.^note Aside from the 1975 edited compilation movie, this is the closest the show had ever come to being brought to the U.S.
