"This episode features a lot of angst and whining! In other words, it's a Kaiba episode."

  • As You Know: Pegasus yells at Kaiba for trying to explain what the very obviously named "Negate Attack" card does.
  • Cargo Ship: Kaiba gets it on with a giant crystal dragon. Yeah.
  • Creator Career Self-Deprecation: While discussing bridges, Yami states that he created the first ever bridge and that it was terrible but people liked it anyway because it was the only one in existence. And then all the bridges were replaced by Lets Players.
  • Cryptic Background Reference: Alister describes a war that went on between his country and another when he was a child, but the names of the countries are never stated, nor are there any motives for why the war started.
  • Dead Horse Trope: After all this time, Kaiba finally kills the "Screw the Rules" joke.
  • Foreshadowing: While initially just as Affably Evil and taunting as usual, Pegasus appears unusually more hostile than usual toward Kaiba; his snarks are much more aggressive (he flat-out insults him when he arrives), and he starts yelling at him in the middle of the fight for trying to explain what Negate Attack does. This is foreshadowing to the reveal he's actually Alister (who has a personal grudge against Kaiba) in disguise.
  • God Guise: Kaiba and Mokuba fly over a third-world country in their Blue Eyes White Dragon jet plane and are mistaken by the inhabitants for a dragon god. Kaiba immediately suggests abusing the situation by asking them to give him trading cards as a tribute.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Alister calls Pegasus's voice ridiculous.
  • Master of Disguise: Alister perfectly mimics both the voice and face of Pegasus.
  • Misplaced Retribution: Alister hates Seto Kaiba because, as neither of the countries had names, Alister decides to get revenge on the first person he saw. Gozuboro. Which then got transferred to Seto, after he took over the company, despite the hatred between the two. So it's doubly misplaced.
  • No Name Given: Actually parodied as a plot point; neither Alister's country nor the one attacking it was given names (or clear reasons for fighting), which was why they couldn't end the war; not knowing each other's name, they didn't know who to ask to stop. Similarly, Alister initially wanted to swear vengeance on the enemy country, but since he didn't know which one it was, he instead decided to blame it on the Kaiba family.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Skewed Priorities:
    • Kaiba duels Pegasus to save his company… kind of. He's mostly there just to force him to stop making fun of him.
    • He also designed and built the perfect jet plane only to scrap it and make a ridiculous dragon toy version instead because he was bored.
    • The episode ends with Kaiba seriously considering wasting his new card on defeating Yugi rather than saving the world.
