- Easily Forgiven: Averted. Not only does Yugi vow to never forgive Weevil for throwing his cards into the ocean in the previous episode but he hasn't even forgiven Joey for doing something similar to a piece of the Millennium Puzzle.
- "Get Back Here!" Boss: Weevil tries to pull this off to lead Yugi into a trap. Doesn't help him much.
- Protagonist-Centered Morality: "Maybe next time you'll think twice before forcing someone to part with their valuables. Now hand over your star chips and kiss my feet."
- Transformation Sequence: Parodied when Weevil "transforms" into Cornholio.
