While searching for Yuzu, who was kidnapped by Serena, Yuya runs into Ruri. While Yuto is rejoiced that Ruri is safe, she suddenly forces him to Duel her.
In response to Yuto's desire to save Ruri, his cards show up. Yuto’s fight to save Ruri, who has taught him to bring smiles through Dueling, is about to begin.
This episode contains the following tropes:
- Berserk Button: Both of Yuya and Yuto's were pushed hard when Serena revealed that all the bracelet girls have all parasites in their heads.
- Mind-Control Eyes: Both Yuzu and Rin had those at the end of the episode. You can thank the Parasite Fusioners for that.
- More than Mind Control: The Doktor is not pulling any punches about improving his "methods". That means Ruri is not out of the woods just yet.
- Mythology Gag: Yuya and Yuto performed the same technique that Yugi and Dark Yugi used multiple times in the original manga.
- Nightmare Face: Combined with Slasher Smile, Serena might be the first Yu-Gi-Oh! character to match Vector!
- People Puppets: No Bracelet Girl is an exception of the Doktor's Parasite Fusioners, not even Yuzu.
- Protagonist Title: Yuto, the titular "Phantom Knight", is the focal character of the episode.
- Ship Tease:
- Yuto and Ruri get a huge amount of ship tease. Yuto is desperate to save her. They even have a flashback showing their relationship that has its fair share of blushing.
- Yuya and Yuzu get a fair enough when Yuya learns that Yuzu is being implanted with a Parasite Fusioner, he nearly loses it.
- This Is Unforgivable!: Both of Yuya and Yuto's reactions when they found out what's in the bracelet girls' heads.
- Unstoppable Rage: Both Yuya and Yuto are pissed that their respective love interests are being controlled.
- Wham Episode: This is the first time that Yuya and Yuto switched bodies. Though it seems to just be an illusion.
- Wham Shot: And Yuzu is now added on the Doktor's People Puppets list.
