Tropes:

  • Alternate History: Chikara, his best friend Ryo, and his family all appear to have been born a lot earlier in the 101st Loop, seeing how he and Ryo are about to graduate high school in 1999, when in the 100th Loop, Fuuko and Andy met him while he was still a high school student in the 2010s.
  • Badass in Distress: Having been tricked into joining this mission, Feng has to have Untruth used on him to prevent him from running away. It isn't until he gives up that Shen takes his eye off of him.
  • Clueless Chick-Magnet: As part of his efforts to better control Untruth, Shen has been winking at various students throughout the school, which has given him a legion of groupies. He has to it explained to him by Mui why they are all following him.
    • Fuuko similarly has a rather large group of guys doing the same thing and literally chasing her to have lunch with her. Like Shen, she's shocked when Gina points this out to her.
  • Fish out of Water: Fuuko and to a lesser extent Shen. Due to both having never attended high school and spending over 170 years in the past preparing to slay God, she replicates what she's read in her manga, like energetically answering instead of waiting to be called on only to be embarrassed at how real school doesn't work in that way. Both her and Shen also have very skewed perspective of what normal people are physically capable of, showcasing superhuman capabilities while attempting to blend in despite holding back, with no self awareness of how much they stand out.
  • Lighter and Softer: Outside of the brief tension of waiting to prevent Chikara's tragedy and UMA Color attacking the school this arc is the running for the brightest tone in the series yet.
  • Logical Weakness: Unmove freezes everyone in place that Chikara sees as long as he doesn't move. Anyone who is invisible can move around freely. Thankfully, this is used to great effect by Fuuko and Gina to prevent Chikara from accidentally killing his parents by having Sean make them invisible while they divert the incoming truck.
  • Incredibly Obvious Tail: While Fuuko blends in uniform-wise (despite her gloves and hair tucked into her shirt) her lack of volume control and overall excitement at experiencing high school allows Chikara see her attempts to get close to him from a mile away.
  • Irony:
    • Fuuko remarks to herself how she's actually more experienced with English than her own native Japanese.
    • In the previous loop, Fuuko and Andy wanted Chikara to join the Union of his own accord, to the point they give him a week to decide with a deadline on whether he'll come on his own accord. After UMA Color attacks, Fuuko, having seen his dream as a photographer, wants Chikara to achieve it and opts to leave him behind. He finds them anyway because of Sean approaching to explain and still joins.
  • Off Screen Moment Of Awesome: The Union still continues to do quests during the long-term mission, with Fuuko and Gina having to rush to finish the newest batch of quests to make it to the final relay race for the sports festival.
  • Pants-Pulling Prank: In her desperation to beat Shen a relay race, Fuuko uses Unluck on Shen and his pants fall down towards the finish line. Making it even worse, Chikara captures the moment of him flipping over due to this and it's clear by the reactions that everyone watching the race sees him exposed. He's still not over it months later.
  • Those Two Guys: Nico and Ichico are frequently in the background commenting on the uproar the Union members (mainly Fuuko) create as they try to blend into everyday school life. Usually while they are out for a smoke.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: An arc-wide example for Fuuko, who's beaming with excitement at the idea of finally experiencing high school life.
