Snow Day
Tropes:
- Cheaters Never Prosper: Smidge learns this as all her attempts to win first place fail miserably. She finally wins her gold medal at the end of the episode completely by accident.
- First Snow: Branch is excited to finally experience his first snow, since he’s never seen it before due to all his years in the bunker.
- Intergenerational Rivalry: Poppy has this with her dad, as she’s determined that this will be the year that she finally wins their annual snowball fight.
- Simultaneous Arcs: Throughout the episode, Poppy, Branch, & Smidge undergo their own individual story arcs that all converge in the end.
- Snowed-In: When going back to the bunker to get Gary’s scarf, Branch accidentally gets snowed in by the abrupt snowfall before he can even get out and truly enjoy it.
- Training Montage: Poppy goes through one of these as she prepares for the no holds barred snowball fight her and her dad have each year.
Guy Misses Out
Tropes:
- Locked Out of the Loop: Guy Diamond in this episode is trying desperately to participate in an inside joke he had missed when he arrived late to a party.
- You Were Trying Too Hard: This is Guy’s problem as he tries to use the “Ding-dong that’s a no-no” joke without fully understanding it. He finally is able to correctly use the joke in the end after experiencing for himself the event during which the joke was made.
