Go To

With TGS canceled, Liz tries to fit into the routine of motherhood. Meanwhile, having finally become CEO of Kabletown, Jack seeks to meet his remaining life goals. Both find themselves unsatisfied...

This episode forms the first part of a two-parter with “Last Lunch”, the series’ finale.

The 30 Rock episode “Hogcock” contains examples of:

  • Bait-and-Switch: “The night is young ... and neither are you.”
  • Brick Joke: Several, but most impressively, Conan O’Brien appears to bring back a season one joke about Liz and him dating.
  • Call-Back: Kenneth's office has the "MOM" cookie jar that Jack bestowed him in "The Collection."
  • Everyone Loves Blondes: When Jenna flies to LA to become an film actress, she finds its airport crowded with gorgeous, younger blondes and decided it might be better to stay where she is.
  • The Cameo: A number of characters from the show’s run appear one more time:
    • Conan O’Brien as himself playing Liz’s jilted ex.
    • Elisa Pedrera, Jack’s ex
    • Nancy Donovan, Jack’s other ex
    • Kathy Geiss, who’s invented a machine that hugs old people
    • Nancy Pelosi as herself, critiquing Jack’s business practices on TV.
  • Faking the Dead: Pete implies that he is planning this.
  • Flame War: Parodied on Liz’s mommy chatroom. Asking a simple question gets a horde of dissenting and attacking opinions, and leads her to challenge a random commenter to an in-person fight.
    • Specifically, she innocently asks where she can get a good girl's bike (for her adopted daughter), prompting outrage for enforcing antiquated gender roles.
  • Godwin's Law: Invoked on Liz’s message board.
"Why don't you go back to Saudi Arabia, HITLER!"
  • Lonely at the Top: Jack has finally got the job he’s always wanted and accomplished every personal or work-related goal, and finds himself unhappy.
  • A Threesome Is Hot: Jack appears to have achieved this with his exes Elisa and Nancy.
  • What Measure Is a Non-Human?: Invoked and defied by Kenneth in his anecdotal story of a telepathic pig. Into the slaughtering chute it went!
