Recap / The Suite Life Of Zack And Cody S 1 E 10 Cody Goes To Camp

Go To

Cody and Tapeworm go to a math camp for two weeks, and at first, Zack doesn't think he'll miss Cody, but ends up missing him the most out of everyone—-in fact, Zack ends up missing Cody so much that he gets London to drive him (along with Muriel and an unwilling Maddie) to the camp so he can see Cody.

Tropes:

  • Acronyms Are Easy as Aybeecee: Mr. Moseby tries to give London a driving lesson. Moseby asks if she's familiar with the gear shift. When she calls it "the prindle," he loses his patience.
Moseby: Are you referring to the shift lever that says P-R-N-D-L?
London: I'm not a child, Moseby, I know how to spell "prindle".
Moseby: It is not something you spell. It is a gear shift. The letters stand for PARK, REVERSE, NEUTRAL, DRIVE, AND LOW!
London: You're making me nervous with all this technical talk!
Moseby: Oh, I'm sorry! Why don't we just relax and turn on the radio? Would you like AMM OR FUMM?note
  • Black and Nerdy: Warren from Camp Knock-a-Number.
  • Bluffing the Authorities: When London is driving slowly with Zack, Maddie, and Muriel on the interstate, they get pulled over by a cop and is given a warning because London is still learning how to drive. But when Muriel starts driving really fast and they get pulled over by the same cop, Muriel and London makes up the excuse that Zack recently ate some bad chili cheese dogs and he needs to go to the hospital which the cop believes because this happened before.
  • The Drag-Along: Cody is away at Math Camp with Zack missing him, so he and London (who doesn't know how to drive) decide to go to the camp and abduct Maddie so she wouldn't tell anyone. Maddie constantly complains about being taken along against her will and at the end of the episode, informs her friends that her lawyers will be in touch.
  • Jerkass Has a Point:
    • Moseby may be strict while he's teaching London, but he's not wrong when he informs her that driving a motor vehicle is serious business. After all, it's dangerous enough driving two tons of steel and tires when you know how to do it properly.
    • Muriel may be a Lazy Bum, but it's definitely not the housekeeper's jurisdiction to clean up a collapsed wall that would take hours to remove the rubble from.
  • Lazy Bum / Running Gag: Muriel appears and proclaims "I am not cleaning that up".
  • Literal-Minded: When Carey low-key threatens Estaban to tell her where Zack is by insinuating what mother bears are capable of when their cubs are endangered, he spills the beans and then promptly begs Carey not to eat him.
  • Mama Bear:
Carey: You ever seen the one about what a mother bear will do to protect her cubs?
  • Nerds Are Virgins: Apparently, girls never come to Camp Knock-a-Number. When they see London and Maddie, Tapeworm and especially Warren try some really awkward flirting.
  • Recycled Soundtrack: A music cue from PB&J Otter is used.
  • Sibling Seniority Squabble:
Carey: You guys have never been apart, not ever.
Zack: Except for the first 10 minutes when Cody wasn't born. Those were the days.
