Recap / The Real Ghostbusters S 5 E 17 Loose Screws

Go To

Slimer is pretending to be Peter and playing with a pretend proton pack. He finds a trap and tries to play with that too, but it falls down the stairs, breaking it. He fixes it, but the Ghostbusters enter for a job before he can add the last screw. The Ghostbusters drive off, with Slimer and the broken trap (which Slimer doesn't explain is broken) and find a cat-like creature at a supermarket, throwing food.

Slimer eats the food, and then the Ghostbusters catch the cat thing. However, because of the missing screw, the trap is leaky, and it brings a kiddie ride shaped like an elephant, a parking meter, and a vending machine to life. When Slimer puts the trap in the basement to be emptied, several other objects come to life. He tries to sweep up the spectral essence, but the broom comes to life too. He shoves the broom in the closet, then he goes upstairs to find everyone struggling because Janine's office equipment and Egon's lab equipment have come alive.

They use proton packs to return the items to normal, but then the containment unit alarm sounds. They go downstairs to find that the containment unit has come to life and is spitting out ghosts. Slimer admits he broke the trap, and Egon resets his proton pack so he can zap the containment unit back to normal, while Peter zaps the objects from outside back to normal.

Once the objects are gone, Egon explains that when the ghost leaked out of the trap, it came to pieces, and the pieces possessed inanimate objects in order to reassemble. The Ghostbusters make Slimer promise never to play with the equipment again, and then they all clean up the mess.
