The Wrath of Shmandor

Original air date: 11/13/23

Television has just been brought to the miniature utopian society of Shmandor! Unfortunately, it's the Patrick Show, where Patrick's destructive antics send the city into ruin. Now the Shmandorian army is out to destroy Patrick for good before he can cause any more trouble.

The Wrath of Shmandor contains examples of:

  • Accordion Man: After getting swatted by Bunny, three of the sergeants are Squashed Flat and then spring up like accordions.
  • Actually Pretty Funny: The Shmandorian president admits that Patrick farting after eating a lot of chili dogs is pretty funny, even if it badly influenced the Shmandorians.
  • Brain with a Manual Control: The Shmandorian sergeant plugs himself into Patrick's brain, and broadcasts messages to the city telling them to destroy Patrick.
  • Call-Back: Bunny uses her fly swatting skills established in "Klopnodian Heritage Festival".
  • A Day in the Limelight: This is the only episode to focus on Shmandor in detail.
  • Funny Background Event:
    • When Sarge paces back and forth between his army troops, you can see that they start goofing off when his back is turned.
    • Later on, when Sarge is aiming his missiles at Patrick, one troop is eating pudding, another is reading a comic, and a third is napping.
    • When Bunny swats the Shmandorians believing them to be flies, Patrick can be seen eating French cheese in the background.
  • Inexplicably Identical Individuals: All of the Shmandorians look the same. This gets lampshaded when a Shmandorian sergeant goes to hug his family, but is told by the kid that he's not his dad. He apologizes and moves to the right to find another identical family.
  • Noodle Incident: When Patrick is covered in Shmandorians, Squidina says, "Oh, great! Patrick's covered in bugs again!"
  • Orphaned Punchline: One scene tunes into the show right as Patrick is saying "...and that's why eels cannot be trusted."
  • Stating the Simple Solution: Squidina points out to the Shmandorian scientist that he can simply turn the TV off if he doesn't want Shmandorians watching Patrick's show.
  • Sudden Downer Ending: While the Shmandorian scientist's problem is solved and the show will assuredly not cause any more harm to the city, the sergeant is unaware. In fact, he's still controlling Patrick's brain.
  • Vile Villain, Saccharine Show: While the rest of the Shmandorians are pretty goofy, Sarge is completely serious. He is the only one to not lose sight of his goal of taking Patrick down, and his last-ditch attempt after his army is defeated is to go into Patrick's brain and mind control him. He orders everyone in Shmandor to go and attack Patrick, which is not played for laughs. Even after Squidina finds a peaceful solution, it's shown that Sarge survived and is still controlling Patrick's brain.

Neighbor, neighbor, neighbor, neighbor, neighborhood...
There Goes the Neighborhood

Original air date: 11/14/23

Patrick's show is supposed to be about ice cream, but a mishap leads Squidina to declare it to be about neighbors. Now he's off to ask thought-provoking questions to everyone in the neighborhood (and if they have ice cream).

There Goes the Neighborhood contains examples of:

  • Funny Background Event: Before Patrick gets kicked out of what he assumed to be Slappy's house, we see Slappy's head pasted over pictures in the background.
  • Limited Lyrics Song: Over the traveling scenes, Patrick sings a song that mainly consists of the word "neighbor" and "neighborhood" repeated.
  • Malaproper: Patrick mispronounces "varicose veins" as "very close veins".
  • "Open!" Says Me: After being locked out of a house when trying to interview its apparent owner, Patrick kicks the door down.
  • Riddle for the Ages: Whose mansion was Cecil guarding?
  • Running Gag: Cecil showing up in various places with new jobs.
  • Shout-Out: The intro for Patrick's Neighborhood, along with the song Patrick sings, the outfit he wears, and his puppets, are all references to Mister Rogers' Neighborhood.
  • Spoof Aesop: After returning home once his neighbors turn out to be puppets controlled by an alien, Patrick summarizes what he's learned: "Never trust your neighbors, 'cause they'll just turn out to be a bunch of tentacles connected to some big, weird alien monster."
  • Title Drop: Bunny says the episode's title after the entire neighborhood literally flies away.
  • Travel Montage: Patrick and Squidina's trips through the neighborhood are portrayed as puppets (Patrick's is gum and Squidina's is belly button lint) taped to crayons, moving against a poorly-drawn map taped to Patrick's wall.
