Several millennia later, Luz Noceda starts her first day of high school, and quickly makes three new friends that would change her life forever.
- Adaptational Angst Downgrade: In The Owl House canon, Luz had a Friendless Background and no social circle. Here, she quickly bonds with the Amphibia trio.
- Adaptation Expansion: The girls are shown taking their "BFFs" photo to celebrate the start of high school.
- Adaptational Location Change: In Amphibia canon, Anne, Sasha, and Marcy lived in Los Angeles. In this story they live in Hartford, Connecticut, of which Gravesfield is established as a suburb of, allowing them to attend the same school as Luz.
- Commonality Connection: Luz quickly bonds with Marcy over a love of Azura, and fantasy in general.
- Crashing Dreams: The beginning of the chapter sees Luz dreaming she's Good Witch Azura, with it coming to an end when her mother wakes her to let her know they were almost to school.
- Everyone Has Standards: Despite being her pre-Character Development self, and thus a somewhat abrasive Control Freak, Sasha still shows a degree of sympathy for Luz upon learning of her Friendless Background.
- Left the Background Music On: Sasha's appearance is accompanied by a guitar riff... followed by her complimenting a nearby student on said guitar skills.
- Named by the Adaptation: The nameless blonde girl who appeared in the canon first episode of the Owl House is called Stacy here.
- Shout-Out: Luz's first meeting with Anne involves the latter almost running her over with her bike, much like in another crossover story, The Owl and The Frog.
- Take That!: Luz makes some rather snide comments about the ending of the Show Within a Show "War of Thrones", which are clearly a jab at Game of Thrones.Marcy: I'm not sure that one really counts. The series caught up with the books pretty quickly so they had to kinda go in a different direction. Not to mention the final season..."Luz: Ugh, tell me about it! So many important plot points and world building, all thrown out the window! They even made the dragon queen the bad guy! That came out of nowhere! They should have had at least one season to build on that!
