Recap / The Omnitrix Hero S 2 E 1 Plumbing School

Go To

Tetrax, Fuego, and Glug return to Earth intending to bring it back into the fold of the Plumbers. Flash and Shining are tested to see if they are worthy of being brought into the Plumbers, and if Flash is worthy of the Omnitrix. But Fuego and Glug quickly begin to think Shining would make a better candidate for the wielder of the Omnitrix than Flash.

  • Adaptational Name Change: George Washington, the first President of the United States, is named Gorge Washingteeth in the Equestria Girls setting.
  • And I Must Scream: According to Fluttershy, the mutated animals under Animac's control were regretful of being forced to attack the city.
  • The Bus Came Back: Animac, Tetrax, Fuego, and Glug all return in this chapter.
  • Cutting the Knot: In the first test Flash and Shining are given, they are given a wire loop game, which will produce a ten thousand volt shock if the wire is touched, and told to ring the bell on the end. Shining passes it in half a second by just ringing the bell on the end himself with a pen instead of using the wire, since the only rule was to "ring the bell". Flash attempts to do this in the next test by smashing open a box instead of using the combination, only to set off a booby trap.
  • Internal Reveal:
    • The Rainbooms meet Tetrax and learn he is a friend of Flash, Trixie, and Shining.
    • Fuego and Glug learn that Flash is the wielder of the Omnitrix.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: When Animac's control over his mutants is removed and he realizes nobody is going to jump in to save him, he undoes the mutations himself to return the animals to normal. Immediately afterwards, when he realizes he is at the mercy of the angry heroes, he surrenders without a fight and asks to be sent to jail.
  • Mundane Utility: Rarity thinks that Flash can use his alien forms to help her with her dress designs, like her using Diamondhead's crystal shards for decorations or make a fireproof clothing line with Firefly's silk.
  • Never Hurt an Innocent: When Fuego and Glurg were about to take down the creatures Animac was controlling, Flash stopped them, explaining that they hadn't asked to become monsters and that Plumbers were supposed to protect innocent beings.
  • Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!: Tetrax is much more open to the idea of Flash and his friends helping than Fuego and Glug. When Shining Armor starts to get overrun by Animac's mutants, Textrax unlocks the tube over the Omnitrix, allowing Flash to use it again. He later grabs a blaster and mask to send to Flash so he can use it when the Omnitrix times out, while ignoring the protest from the two Majesters.
Glug: That is plumber tech and can only be used by licenced plumbers.
    Tetrax: Sue me.
  • Secret-Keeper: The Rainbooms have officially become this for Flash, now being aware of the Omnitrix and helping him keep his identity a secret from others. This also means that he no longer needs to hide his transformations from them and he, Trixie, and Shining can openly discuss things with them.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Twilight talks to Flash when he is depressed over his poor performance on the tests and feeling he has become complacent and dependent on the Omnitrix and is still useless without it. She tells him that he is not useless, and even if he used the Omnitrix to do good things it was still him doing it, and he always made the best of his situation even when the Omnitrix messed up and gave him the wrong alien.
