We take a look at the planet Shroudose, the home planet of the Smogleo, the species of Vapaw.
- Death World: Shroudose is not only filled with vicious predators always on the hunt for their next meal, the atmosphere has a mix of gases that produce a new poisonous gas to most lives.
- Good Scars, Evil Scars: The Smogleo that loses the fight for leadership of the pride receives a scar over his left eye.
- Karmic Jackpot: The exiled Smogleo seems likely to die on his own without a pride, but he goes out of his way to save a female Smogleo that's being attacked by several Fogavians. As thanks for this, she takes him back to her own pride, and their leader, who is too old to lead properly anymore and doesn't have a heir, makes him the new leader.
- Polyamory: Due to the low birth-rate of male Smogleos, a male will lead a polygamist life with multiple females. The ending scene shows the main Smogleo of the chapter has made several of the females of his new pride pregnant.
- Rescue Romance: The female Smogleo that the exiled male saves appears very grateful to him, and takes him back to her pride. A year later, although he has impregned many of the females in the pride due to the polygamist nature of Smogleos, he seems the closest with the one he originally saved.
- Shout-Out: There are alien versions of lions, warthogs, and meerkats, making this a lot like an alien version of The Lion King.
- You Are in Command Now: The elder leader of a pride of Smogleos, due to being too old to lead anymore and having no heirs of his own, officially passed on leadership of the pride to the exiled Smogleo that the female brings back with her.
