An autocorrected tweet brings the band into the world of Minecraft for a virtual concert, but also earns them the ire of every major music fandom in the world.

Tropes

  • Actor Allusion: When Moog speaks up during a meeting Penny demands to know who the "Smart Guy" is.
  • Auto-Incorrect: The conflict of the episode occurs because the phone auto-corrects Dr. Teeth's made-up but complimentary words into real but disparaging phrases. His initial tweet says "To our fellow music makers. You're absotively tremendulous. You are all truly talenticious with stupenderous fans", but it gets sent as "To our fellow music makers. You're absolutely terrible. You are all truly talentless with stupid fans".
  • Bait-and-Switch: Janice tells Nora a story about a woman torn between her love for two men. Nora assumes it's about Janice trying to choose between Floyd and another man, but it's actually about a woman named Betty who was trying to choose between Floyd and a businessman. Janice won Floyd over when Betty wouldn't commit to him.
  • Camera Fiend: Zoot is convinced to start using a smartphone when Nora points out it has a camera on it. He's initially confused about where the pictures come out but eventually gets the hang of it.
  • Color-Coded Characters: The fan armies wear color-coordinated outfits which match their vehicles. The Beyhive wear black and yellow and drive a yellow car, the Beliebers wear purple and white and drive a purple car, and the Little Monsters wear light green and pink and drive a lime green car. The Swifties drive a red car and wear a red shirt, but their outfits are coordinated in more than just color...
  • Coordinated Clothes: The Swifties don't just match the colours of their outfits, but match the outfits entirely. Each are wearing heart-shaped sunglasses, a red shirt, a white cardigan, torn blue jeans, black shoes, a black necklace, and a VIP backstage pass lanyard. The only variations are in headwear and the specific shoe type.
  • Destination Defenestration: The rival fans return Lips to the band by throwing him through one of the Shack's windows.
  • Eat the Bomb: During the Minecraft virtual concert, Animal eats one of the TNT boxes thrown by one of the angry music fandoms.
  • Enemy Mine: The fandoms of various musicians, who normally wouldn't get along, all against the Mayhem.
Janice: The good news is we've brought so many different fans together.
Floyd: Yeah, in their hatred of us!
  • Hopeless with Tech: The band is proudly analog with their music and have absolutely no experience with the Internet or modern day cellphones. The only one who even has a smartphone is Lips, and he just uses his to call the various celebrities that collab with them. They get much better with them by the episode's end, but they're also starting to get a bit too involved with their new Internet lives.
  • Mythology Gag: The only other time the Mayhem have been in a feud was "that band from River Bottom. They were a nightmare."
  • Punny Name: The leader of the Beyhive is named "Beatrice" and the leader of the Beliebers is named Justine.
  • Shout-Out: When confronting the Electric Mayhem in their van for the first time, the Swifties, Beyhive, Beliebers, and Little Monsters all make various references to hit songs by their fandom's central musician.
  • Sudden Video-Game Moment: The band perform a concert in Minecraft.
  • Trash the Set: The rival fan groups tear into the Mayhem's van, which was introduced in The Muppets (2015).
