This episode has examples of

  • Happy Birthday to You!: The Swedish Chef and Animal visit Helen's dressing room to sing this to her. When she tells them it isn't her birthday, they switch to "Jingle Bells".
  • Literal-Minded: Kermit tells Beau to clean up the theater and use some elbow grease. Beau, not finding any elbow grease, uses axle grease. To deal with the resultant slippery floor, Kermit orders Beau to spread some sand around. And he does... so much that the backstage area attracts a camel! Beau gets the sand out by sweeping it onto the stage, so Kermit changes the closing number to a desert-themed one.
  • Obligatory Joke: Helen knows that someone will crack a joke about her name, and does one in The Teaser.
[Scooter knocks at the door of Helen's dressing room, then sticks his head in.]
Scooter: Helen Reddy? Uh, thirty seconds to curtain, Miss Reddy.
Helen: Okay, Scooter. I'll be there, "Reddy" or not.
Scooter: Yeah... did you mean to make that joke?
Helen: Well, I meant to make that joke before someone else did.
Scooter: Oh... you think we'd stoop that low?
Fozzie: [sticking his head in] Hey, three to get Reddy!
    Helen: Lower.
  • Punny Name: The camel Helen sings the closing number with is named "Sopwith", as in the famous plane.
  • Rhetorical Question Blunder: This happens when Kermit finds that Beau has cleaned the floor with axle grease.
Kermit: Beauregard, what kind of an idiot are you?
Beauregard: Oh, I didn't know there was a choice.
  • Show Some Leg: Nurse Piggy does this in the beginning of the Vet's Hospital sketch.

Statler: [hits his hand with a hammer] Just as I thought.
Waldorf: What's that?
Statler: After this show, nothing hurts. [Hits his hand again.]
