Child's Play

Luna and the Moon Goats become a kiddie band in order to raise enough money for a new speaker system.
  • Are You Pondering What I'm Pondering?: Done twice with Sully. The third time, however, he actually catches on to the plan.
Luna: You thinking what I’m thinking, Moon Goats?
Sully: Yeah! I wanna ride that trike too! *Beat* I’m not good at this game.
  • Big "NO!": Luna does this when Luan and Mr. Coconuts inform her their parents have taken Lily with them to Aunt Ruth's.
  • A Day in the Limelight: For Luna and the Moon Goats.
  • Drum Roll, Please: At the beginning, when Luna does the math to see how much money they have left, Mazzy makes a drum roll on Sam's head. Sam had to ask her to stop.
  • "Eureka!" Moment:
    • Luna gets the idea to milk Lily's songs for profit when the Moon Goats first hear her singing while riding her tricycle.
    • The Moon Goats also get the idea to embrace their inner toddlers when Sully whips out a kazoo he has purchased from the toy store.
  • Exact Words: Luan and Mr. Coconuts inform Luna that their parents took Lily with Aunt Ruth.
Luna: Oh, please, say they'll be back soon!
Mr. Coconuts: "They'll be back soon."
    Luna: Phew!
Mr. Coconuts: There, I said it; but they won't! They're gone all weekend!
  • Goo Goo Getup: Downplayed. At a bouncing castle, Sully ends up wearing a baby bonnet that a girl gave him.
    Jayden: Sully can keep!
    • For their final concert, they all get to wear bonnets.
  • Kiddie Kid: Invoked, as the 16/17-year-old Moon Goats deliberately act like toddlers and play on the swings and a bounce house for inspiration for their songs.
  • Kids Love Dinosaurs: Mazzy exploits this to distract the toddlers during their first successful performance at a birthday party, telling them Blarney is outside with Precious Puppies.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: As the Moon Goats take notes on Lily singing as she chases Geo across the living room, Sully is badly disguised as the lamp, as in, it's just him with a lampshade on.
  • Plagiarism in Fiction: Luna and her band start their children shows by copying Lily's songs.
  • Pooled Funds: Mr. Coconuts likes to swim inside Luan's safe. Sully even considered to join in.
  • Saying Sound Effects Out Loud: When Luan makes a Pun (as customary) on the Moon Goats, Mazzy responds with "Badum-tiss".
  • Vomit Discretion Shot: Mazzy throws up on a bush after Luna spinned her at a roundabout.

Force of Habits

After Leni brings up an annoying habit of Gavin's, Lori and Luna start noticing their own partners' habits.
  • Actor Allusion: Bobby, voiced by Carlos PenaVega, is shown to have a habit of singing at random.
  • Aesop Amnesia: This isn't the first time the Loud sisters had to learn to accept their loved ones for what they are.
  • Annoying Laugh: Leni thinks Gavin's snorting laugh is annoying.
  • A Day in the Limelight: For Lori, Luna, and Leni.
  • Compressed Vice: Bobby and Sam both have bad habits that they haven't been shown to have before. It's more justified in Gavin's case since he's a relatively new character.
  • Dumbass Has a Point: Even Bobby knows Lori uses the word "literally" incorrectly.
  • Foreshadowing: When the girls go to Dairyland, we're treated with Leni trying to take pictures for social media even at the risk of crashing for not looking up, indicating that she and her sisters have bad habits of their own that are going to be tackled.
  • Funny Background Event: Lori accidentally hits Tippy the cow with a ball. When Bobby tells her about her habit to use the word "literally", Tippy is being carried away with bandages.
  • Groin Attack: Lori accidentally hits Tippy in the groin with a stray ball. It's enough to get him hospitalized.
  • Hypocrite: Lori, Leni and Luna are upset when their respective partners decide to point out their annoying habits too even though the way they went about it wasn't that much different from their approach. In the case of Lori, she had a negative reaction before Bobby even told her what her habit was. Thankfully, they come to realize this.
  • Inelegant Blubbering:
    • Lynn Sr., as usual, does this when Lori comes back from college. He's too emotional to notice Leni slip her out of his grasp and replace her with a pillow.
    • He later does it again when he sees his three eldest daughters hanging out together at his restaurant, and is so emotional Kotaro has to carry him out.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Seemingly averted at first when Lori, Leni and Luna respectively inform Bobby, Gavin and Sam about their habits, as they genuinely thank the sisters for helping them out. Played completely straight when they subsequently try to return the favor.
  • Only Sane Man: As soon as Todd sees Lynn Sr. continue to sob about Lori while unknowingly hugging a pillow, he wheels himself out of the front door while remarking, "This family keeps getting weirder."
  • Original Position Fallacy: At Dairyland, the girls did not expect their couples would also call them out on their own bad habits.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Bobby, along with Sam and Gavin, get upset at their dates for being hypocrites.
