The Last Laugh
Luan fears Mr. Coconuts is out for revenge when she replaces him in her act with Lola.- Drives Like Crazy: Lola's driving ends up smashing Mr. Coconuts. She initially denies any responsibility before reluctantly apologizing for the accident (allegedly).
- Enforced Method Acting: Discussed. Luan suggests that for a future performance, she eats a pizza, and Lola spits it out. Lola suggests that she eat ham and pepperoni to make the performance more realistic.
- People Fall Off Chairs: Luan and Lola at one point do their routine on the news, and Katherine Mulligan is laughing so hard that she falls out of her office chair.
- People Puppets: With Mr. Coconuts out of commission, Lola (who damaged him in the first place due to her driving) fills in for Luan's ventriloquist acts.
- Vengeful Abandoned Toy: When Luan and Lola's props for their act become missing/destroyed, Luan believes Mr. Coconuts is sabotaging them as revenge for being replaced.
Driver's Dread
Leni looks for alternatives to earn her driver's license.- Call-Back: The events of "Driving Miss Hazy" are brought up, complete with a flashback to the ending of that episode.
- Cerebus Retcon: The ending to "Driving Miss Hazy" is repeated, but with Leni being more concerned with her situation than she was in the proper episode. This also gives context to the episode's conflict of Leni being uneasy about driving.
- A Day in the Limelight: For Leni.
- Drives Like Crazy: Leni, as expected from her. Though her "instructors" certainly don't help matters.
- Driving Stick: The first thing Leni does in Bolhofner's car is fiddle with the shifter, she stops this the instant he gives her an unamused glare.
- Failed a Spot Check: The DMV examiner who proctors Leni's fifteenth driving test fails to notice the self-driving device on Vanzilla.
- Fear-Induced Idiocy: Downplayed, where it's revealed that the reason Leni was bad at driving was due to her fear of failing to drive. That said, she wasn't all that smart to begin with, fear or no fear.
- Food as Bribe: Leni gets Mr. Grouse to help her learn how to drive by agreeing to pay him in "Lynn-sagnas".
- Never My Fault: Mr. Bolhofner yells at Leni for wrecking his car, when the crash was caused by his Drill Sergeant Nasty behavior making Leni nervous.
- Noodle Incident: Leni's proctor has clearly proctored her before amidst her fourteen previous attempts, and is cautious about having to proctor her again. It's unknown if that was before or during the events of "Driving Miss Hazy".
- Not Cheating Unless You Get Caught: Strangely for a series that frequently employs Cheaters Never Prosper aesops, Leni actually gets away with cheating on her driver's test. It's diminished by the fact she does learn to drive perfectly well by herself, but it doesn't really change the overall point.
- Oh, Crap!: The proctor for Leni's driving test immediately shudders and dons a helmet upon realizing who she's proctoring.
Proctor: Leni Loud... I remember you.
- Only Sane Man: Leni is slightly more sensible than her first two supposed instructors.
- Pedal-to-the-Metal Shot: Leni is pressured into doing this twice on the highway during the "lesson" with Mr. Bolhofner. The latter even namedropping the trope the second time it happens.
- Plot Archaeology: Leni resumes and succeeds in her attempt to get her driver's license five seasons after "Driving Miss Hazy".
- Potty Emergency: Rita drinks one too many cups of coffee and rushes to go to the bathroom as Leni tries to ask her for a ride to the outlet mall. She's forced to use Mr. Grouse's bathroom after being told about Lola taking one of her four-hour baths.
- Scatterbrained Senior: Mr. Grouse winds up falling asleep during the attempt Leni has with him the very moment they leave the parking lot.
- Sequel Episode: To "Driving Miss Hazy" from Season 1, though with Leni taking on a more proactive role on her own.
- Unflattering ID Photo: Implied by Leni, who after finally obtaining her driver's license, notes that her driver's license photo is a no and offers to text her proctor some alternatives.
