Recap / The Librarians S3 E06 "and the Trial of the Triangle"

Go To

Flynn's back! Again! But the other Librarians have gotten a tad tired of his habit of going off on his own, and thinking he can handle Apep's machinations without anyone's help. When an artifact that might prevent Pure Evil is missing in the Bermuda Triangle, will the team truly reunite in order to obtain it, or will Flynn ride solo once more?

Tropes:

  • And You Were There: Upon making it through the portal in the Bermuda Triangle, everyone Flynn meets is one of the main characters but in a different role. Eg. Cassandra was the Queen of Hearts while Eve was the White Queen.
  • Antiquated Linguistics: Flynn tries to calm down Venezuelan passengers by speaking Spanish...but his dialect isn't from a modern century.
  • The Bermuda Triangle
  • Danger Room Cold Open: Flynn getting jumped by black-clothed people while in the Library. After the title card, it turns out it was just the other Librarians to give him an intervention.
  • Down the Rabbit Hole: The other dimension is all inspired by Lewis Carroll's works. This is because the older Librarian really liked the characters in his works.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Teddy Chislington, a Librarian from the 19th century, exiled himself to the Bermuda Triangle for centuries just to protect the Eye of Ra. Additionally, the Eye itself will take a life to use, and Flynn realizes he wouldn't sacrifice anyone but himself.
  • Hypno Pendulum: Flynn uses a watch as one in order to easily herd panicked airplane passengers, including one DOSA agent, to safety.
    • Hypno Fool: And by 'herd', we mean that he literally makes them all think that they're pigs.
  • One Dialogue, Two Conversations: Subverted. Even and Flynn get into an argument to distract airport security, posing as a couple. Their initially made-up issues turned to actual problems they had with each other.
  • Only I Can Kill Him: Flynn with Apep, partly due to pride, but mostly because he doesn't want Eve or the other Librarians caught in the crossfire.
  • Rhymes on a Dime: All the Wonderland-esque characters spoke in rhymes, until the entire facade was finally broken by the old Librarian.
  • Sdrawkcab Name: The first ship that disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle was the Tibbar (rabbit backwards).
  • Threshold Guardians: Teddy Chislington set up a Wonderland-themed test of character so the Eye of Ra wouldn't fall into the wrong hands.
