When Principal O'Connor tries to make him join a team sport, Darryl starts an e-sports club.
Tropes:
- A Day in the Limelight: For Darryl.
- An Aesop:
- Teamwork makes the dream work.
- You can't do everything on your own, so it's important to let other people help.
- Bottle Episode: Almost the entire episode takes place at Brighton Middle School.
- Charlie and the Chocolate Parody: The game Darryl and his team plays, The Fizz Whizz's Emporium, takes place in a soda factory, with a boss who resembles Willy Wonka and NPCs that look like Oompa-Loompas.
- Continuity Nod: Principal O'Connor mentions how much he loves soda. He was seen drinking some strawberry soda in "A Soda to Remember".
- Deep-Immersion Gaming: Most of the action is shown as 16-bit game footage.
- Graceful Loser: Even though he lost his bet with Darryl, Principal O'Connor is glad Darryl finally learned the importance of teamwork.
- Jerkass Realization: After Darryl spends the whole episode belittling Molly and Libby and refusing to let them help, he tries to defeat the boss on his own and gets a savage beating. Darryl apologizes to Molly and Libby for being harsh and allows them to help him.
- Nice Girl: Libby acted this way towards the NPCs and allowed them to have some equipment. They later helped her defeat the boss.
- Sharing a Body: Scratch takes over the left half of Molly's body to compensate for her lack of coordination in that area. It takes a while for the two of them to get the hang of it.
- Shout-Out:
- One the weapons select are the Kingdom Key, and the Buster Sword.
- After defeating the final boss, Darryl and company's sprites do a victory dance not unlike that of Kirby.
- Super Special Move: Scratch figures out how he can make his and Molly's characters do a Spin Attack. He calls it the Scratch Attack.
