Original air date: 2/12/2022 (produced in 2021)

Production code: 112b

Molly drives herself crazy trying to have the perfect snow day outside, while her friends would rather just hang out indoors.

Tropes:

  • An Aesop: You don't have to be in charge all the time; sometimes it's best to just do what your other friends want to do.
  • Consulting Mister Puppet: At the height of her madness, Molly makes snowman versions of Libby and Scratch. Snow Scratch starts talking to her, telling her that she should just give up trying to make her friends do what she wants them to do. Molly is convinced (mainly because she realizes she's talking to a snowman and probably gone insane) and goes inside... at which point the real Scratch is revealed to have been inside Snow Scratch all along.
  • Continuity Nod: Molly’s inability to skate comes back briefly during her musical number, as she’s seen struggling and eventually falling down.
  • Freudian Couch: During her musical number, Molly rants to a snowman psychologist in one verse who comes complete with a snow couch.
  • Gave Up Too Soon: Just as Molly decides to enjoy hygge with her family, the rest of them decide they've been cooped up inside too long and go play outside. Justified that they spent all episode staying away from the cold and have now become a little too "toasty".
  • Hoist by Her Own Petard: Molly makes several attempts to invoke a majority vote against Scratch to play outside. She invites Libby to join in her Snowday but she rather enjoy hygge and Scratch uses the vote against Molly. She brings Geoff to tie the vote and use another rule, but he joins Libby instead. She soon uses her parents and grandma, but Scratch coaxes them to Libby's side instead.
  • Instant Ice: Just Add Cold!: Downplayed. Molly spends a lot of time convincing Libby and Scratch to go outside with her. Just as she decides to go join Darryl, he comes back encased in a block of ice for staying out too long. Played straight with Scratch, who gets flattened and frozen the minute Libby walks in.
  • Jerkass Ball: MOLLY, of all people, gets this, stubbornly trying to get everyone outside so she can do everything on her snow day checklist.
  • Obsessed Are The List Makers: Molly makes a ridiculously Long List of snow day activities, and is determined to check off every one, with or without her friends and family.
  • Running Gag: There's another "ghost bird" sighting when Scratch sees one freeze to death mid-flight.
  • Sanity Slippage: Molly starts to crack up while trying to enjoy her snow day outdoors by herself. It starts with her ignoring how unbelievably cold she's getting, then devolves to her making snowmen versions of Scratch and Libby to have a snowball fight with. Scratch finally talks to her (secretly via Snow Scratch) about enjoying her friend's company instead of dragging everyone to do her thing.
  • Skyward Scream: Molly yells "Hygge" upwards in frustration after everyone decides to go outside immediately after she gave up and came inside.
  • Yellow Snow: When Scratch sees a drawing of himself with a yellow snow cone on Molly's list, he quips "Please tell me that's lemon."
