Recap / The 100 Girlfriends Who Really Really Really Really Really Love You Ch 052

Go To

Rentarou introduces Chiyo to the rest of the harem, who are surprised to see a junior high school student and a relative in the mix. Karane is bewildered at how many limits are being pushed with the new addition, and Hahari is aghast that Chiyo's father tried to set her up with Rentarou. As Chiyo meets the other haremettes, her obsessiveness quickly surfaces.

She starts by lengthening Hakari's skirt down to her knees, prompting her to run around pretending to get tangled up in the skirt. She then moves to Karane, straightening her socks and tying a ribbon around her neck, making her look like a forcibly dressed-up cat. Next, she confiscates Mimimi's fake eyelashes; despite her natural eyelashes looking exactly the same, this causes her to run around the rooftop covering her face in embarrassment. Chiyo then pins up Meme's bangs, causing her to cover her face until Shizuka provides her a pair of Mimimi's sunglasses.

She then straightens out Shizuka's hair, prompting Shizuka to smooth it out as it curls back. Kurumi comments on this development, prompting Chiyo to demand she use cleaner language, causing her to start craving wieners. Nano offers her a surplus wiener from her lunch, but Chiyo insists that she finish it herself to show gratitude to the animals that make it up. Chiyo uses a copy of volume 4 to show that angels were present in the Baby Morph Episode, and therefore heaven exists in this world, and Nano fights to avoid throwing up as she struggles to finish her lunch.

Kusuri attempts to give Nano a drug to pixellate her vomit, but Chiyo immediately confiscates it along with all her other drugs, sending Kusuri into withdrawal. Mei starts to head off to the pharmacy to get drugs for Kusuri, but Chiyo reprimands her for driving with her eyes closed. Despite her eyes opening in response to the charge, Mei is unable to reopen them. The remaining two girls, Iku and Hahari, try to play a game to get Mei to open her eyes, which leads to Hahari playing Iku's bum cheeks like bongos. Chiyo immediately mummifies the two before telling off Rentarou for 12-timing.

As she calms down from her rampage, Chiyo sees the entire harem in chaos and realizes she made a huge mistake. Mimimi bumps into her, causing her glasses to fall off. As she descends into a sobbing mess, everyone snaps out of their delirium to try to comfort Chiyo. Realizing they weren't out of line before, Chiyo apologizes for her actions, and the other girls welcome her into the family.

Tropes:

  • Call-Back: Chiyo presents Nano with a copy of volume 4 to prove that heaven exists in this world.
  • Compressed Vice: The entire harem (Rentarou included, arguably) gets hit with this so Chiyo can show off her obsessiveness. The "vices" in question range from literally just-invented (Shizuka's permanently-unruly hair, Nano being a Flat-Earth Atheist) to preexisting-if-petty (Hakari, Karane, and Mimimi violating the school dress-code), to legitimately valid (Kusuri's obsession with drugs, Mei driving with Eyes Always Shut, Hahari's entire... existence).
  • Hypocritical Humor: Hahari calls out Hiro for letting his daughter be part of a harem, even though she and her daughter are both dating the same boy.
  • Recursive Canon: Chiyo convinces Nano of heaven's existence by pointing to a previous chapter of the manga.
  • Shout-Out: Meme's desperate attempt to hide her eyes is compared to Colonel Muska's final moments.
  • Skewed Priorities: Chiyo is more bothered by Shizuka's messy hair than the fact that she's using a text-to-speech app to communicate.
  • Straight Man: Meme attempts to play this role when Karane can't. Because Chiyo pinned her bangs up earlier, she ends up looking like a delinquent and ends up trying to play the straight man role while talking like one.
