  • Call-Back: Lucifer breaks down Vince's will and gets him to agree to be a vessel by posing as his dead wife, just like he did with Nick in Season 5.
  • Can't Kill You, Still Need You: Lucifer chooses not to kill Rowena, because with her power and access to the Book of the Damned, she's too useful.
  • Cold-Blooded Torture: Toni continues to do this to Sam, and is about to get started on Dean when Mary shows up.
  • Designated Girl Fight: Mary and Toni.
  • Double Standard Rape: Female on Male / Double Standard: Rape, Sci-Fi: Toni subjects Sam to a simulated assault. Nothing is really made of it.
  • Eye Scream: Threatened by Toni to Dean.
  • Facial Horror: Crowley throws acid in Lucifer's face to weaken his vessel, burning away the flesh on the lower half of his face and exposing his skull.
  • Fan Disservice: At the beginning of the episode we get to see Sam in bed with a woman, making love in a relaxed and downright romantic setting. A scene fit for giving you the warm fuzzies... unless you have seen the previous episode, that is. The attentive viewer can't help but wonder why Sam seems so oddly comfortable sleeping with the same woman that has kidnapped him and had him put through brutal physical and psychological torture. So what the hell did she do to him now?
  • Fish out of Temporal Water: Mary is having trouble adapting to the modern world.
Mary: We should call the Internet, see what we can find out. (beat) Was that right?
    Dean: So close.
  • Gold Digger: Rowena doesn't bother denying that her main interest in her new man is his vast, very inheritable fortune. She's so upfront about her intention to outlive him that she might well be planning to hurry the process along.
  • He Who Fights Monsters: Toni feels that the American hunter community is no better than the monsters they hunt.
  • Mama Bear: Mary comes charging to the rescue in the nick of time to save Dean from Toni.
Mary: Get away from my boys.
  • My Card: Mick gives Castiel his, in case Team Free Will ever feels like working with the British Men of Letters properly.
  • No-Sell: For some reason, Rowena's attempt to banish Lucifer back to his cage doesn't work.
  • Oh, Crap!: Crowley and Rowena realizing Lucifer can't be banished.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Lucifer, several times.
  • Retired Monster: Rowena is trying to get away from the world of magic and monsters by marrying a rich bachelor. Crowley forces her to help him instead, and she ends up imprisoned by Lucifer.
  • Rogue Agent: Toni, as it turns out, was only supposed to investigate American hunters. Her superiors are less than pleased she went to this whole torture business.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Crowley wastes no time vanishing when Rowena fails to banish Lucifer.
  • The Worf Effect: Toni. The Winchesters have been shown capable to throw down with gods, but she still manages to consistently get the better of them in hand-to-hand combat.
