Arbor Day Disarray

Original air date: 6/27/2023 (produced in 2022)

When Sandy gives her friends special saltwater trees as an Arbor Day present, she instructs them to talk to the trees to help them grow. But as the trees grow, they start talking back and their care becomes too much for everyone.

"Arbor Day Disarray" contains examples of:

  • Continuity Nod: In one scene, SpongeBob has brown hair and a beard that looks very similar to his hair and beard from “SpongeHenge.”
  • Deadpan Snarker: The trees, once gaining sentience, begin hurling insults at their owners. Special mention goes to Mr. Krabs' tree, who is made to listen to customer complaints and responds with his own complaints aimed at them.
  • Drives Like Crazy: Mrs. Puff's tree proves to be just as bad a driver as her student, SpongeBob.
  • Here We Go Again!: After the trees get turned into furniture, they start playing tricks again on SpongeBob and Sandy, causing Sandy to consider skipping the next Arbor Day.
  • Insult Backfire: When Patrick's tree points out that even he can see that the show Patrick's watching is for babies, it zooms out to show Patrick wearing a diaper and bonnet, who fails to see understand the insult.
  • Misplaced Vegetation: As lampshaded by Squidward, trees don't grow underwater. However, Sandy created a special brand of acorns that become sentient saltwater trees.
  • Significant Double Casting: The trees given to SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, Mr. Krabs, and Mrs. Puff all share the same voice actor as their respective owner.
  • Toilet Humor: When Sandy instructs that the trees need plenty of fertilizer, Patrick farts and tells her not to worry.
  • When Trees Attack: The trees eventually wreak havoc in Bikini Bottom after being discarded by their owners.

Ain't That the Tooth

Original air date: 6/28/2023 (produced in 2022)

SpongeBob and Patrick mistake a burglar for the tooth fairy, and end up getting recruited into helping him.

"Ain't That the Tooth" contains examples of:

  • Amusing Injuries: Dorsal Dan is tossed around and crushed throughout the episode. Eventually he is sent off a cliff, shatters all of his teeth, caught in the explosion of his truck, and then his head is flattened by a giant coin.
  • Coincidental Accidental Disguise: When Dorsal Dan tries to rob Patrick, he gets covered in miscellaneous junk and glitter, causing SpongeBob and Patrick to mistake him for the tooth fairy.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • Patrick is horrified because he thinks he’s growing a nose, probably due to “No Nose Knows.”
    • Patrick wears his sweater from "My Pretty Seahorse."
    • Bubble Bass is watching the same movie Mr. Krabs watched in "Life of Crime".
    • Mr. Krabs has a top-notch security system similar to “Knock Knock, Who’s There?”
  • Hypocritical Humor: Mr. Krabs complains about how gullible SpongeBob and Patrick are, only to afterwards fall for his own trap.
  • Nonstandard Character Design: The Tooth Fairy, with her humanoid appearance and Skin Tone Sclerae, looks more in place in a Hanna-Barbera cartoon.
  • Special Guest: Steve Buscemi returns as Dorsal Dan.
