Fancy a robotic reimagining?
Welcome to Binary Bottom

Original air date: 1/13/2023 (produced in 2022)

In an alternate robot dimension called "Binary Bottom", SpongeBot tries to catch his runaway pet, Robo-Gary, while having to deal with his own problem.

"Welcome to Binary Bottom" contains examples of:

  • Adaptational Abomination: Sandy is just a normal squirrel the same size as the rest of Bikini Bottom's citizens (sans Plankton). Sandroid is a massive floating head who can summon lassos and electric supplies from her mouth, and assimilate smaller robots to construct a massive body for herself.
  • Adaptational Villainy: Sandroid, Sandy's robotic counterpart, is much more aggressive than her, wanting to Take Over the World with a new body made of assimilated citizens.
  • Adaptational Wimp: Plankton's counterpart, PlankBot is reduced to Harmless Villain status, as he is a windup toy and has to be winded up in order to keep moving. And even then, his movement is extremely slow. Should he get stomped or knocked over, he can't pick himself up. Karen has to assist him. With Sandroid taking up the Big Bad status, he ends up looking even more like a joke.
  • Admiring the Abomination: Upon seeing Sandroid having constructed a body for herself using the robots in Lube Lagoon, all Rube can say is "Amazing!"
  • Affably Evil: While Sandroid is intimidating most of the time, she at one point briefly drops her Voice of the Legion and exclaims her reasons for wanting to assimilate everyone with a nice smile, "so we can all be as close as peas in a pod!"
  • The Assimilator: Related to the above, Sandroid assimilates all the Binary Bottomites into a Mechanical Abomination and announces the "rise of the robots".
  • The Bad Guy Wins: Sandroid succeeds in assimilating all of Binary Bottom's citizens into a new body for her and proceeds to head towards a city on land, presumably to take it over.
  • Call-Back:
  • The Cameo: By GrandPat, who appears for a few seconds as part of his story arc.
  • Cyber Cyclops: PlankBot, Plankton's robotic counterpart.
  • Driven to Suicide: Played for Laughs. Squidbot's clone self destructs after seeing SpongeBot.
  • Electronic Speech Impediment: SpongeBot regularly stutters and glitches, likely due to his hyperactive personality. SquidBot, Robo-Krabs, and the French Narrator also have this feature.
  • Mirror Universe: Machines and fish are swapped in this reality, as examplified by Karen's fish counterpart, and PlankBot, who calls her his "flesh and blood wife".
  • Percussive Maintenance: Throughout the episode, SpongeBot does this to both SquidBot and Robo-Krabs when their Electronic Speech Impediment kicks in.
  • Projected Man: Pat-Tron's hologram appears next to him after he powers down, explaining that he's recharging. A hologram of the mailman also appears in the beginning of the episode.
  • Robotic Reveal: The French Narrator begins glitching and looping at the end, revealing that he is also a robot in this universe.
  • What If?: The episode explores the premise of Bikini Bottom's citizens being replaced by robots.

And this is what happens when you're too cheap to hire paranormal investigators.
You're Going to Pay... Phone

Original air date: 1/13/2023 (produced in 2022)

Mr. Krabs gets a cursed payphone, which hypnotizes him to go against his greedy nature.

"You're Going to Pay... Phone" contains examples of:

  • Alternate Identity Amnesia: Mr. Krabs doesn't remember anything he said and did after being released from the demon's mind control.
  • The Bad Guy Wins:
    • The demon inhabiting the payphone traps Mr. Krabs in it instead and becomes free.
    • Plankton becomes the new owner of the Krusty Krab when Mr. Krabs gets hypnotized into giving him the deed to the restaurant.
  • Cursed Item: A payphone that Mr. Krabs gets for free from an old man.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: The demon inside a payphone forces Mr. Krabs to give away free Krabby Patties and his money, which can be viewed as a payback for his greed and selfishness.
  • Mind-Control Eyes: Mr. Krabs has these every time he's hypnotized by the demon.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: The payphone was inhabited by an evil demon who forced Mr. Krabs to be generous, but after Mr. Krabs decides to look inside, he gets trapped in it instead.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: At the end of the episode, Plankton becomes the new owner of the Krusty Krab after Mr. Krabs gives him the deed to the restaurant while hypnotized.

A Skin Wrinkle in Time

Original air date: 1/13/2023 (produced in 2022)

The finale to "The Tidal Zone" event, where GrandPat of The Patrick Star Show travels through space and time to get back home.

"A Skin Wrinkle in Time" contains examples of:

  • A Day in the Limelight: To GrandPat, being one of the spin-off characters to be prominently featured in the original show.
  • Close-Enough Timeline: After GrandPat finally returns home, he finds that his family has become fly-like beings. He doesn't mind that.
  • Hostile Show Takeover: More like Unwitting Show Takeover. On his trip back home, he parodies the show's theme song with the lyrics changed to his name.
