Shrinking Stars

Original air date: 1/13/23

Patrick has intergalactic captain Doug Quasar and his assistant Pat-Tron appear on his show. Patrick gets a hold of Pat-Tron's Shrink Ray and accidentally causes the family to get smaller — except for GrandPat, who thinks they're vermin and tries to get rid of them. This episode is also a Part 1 of The Tidal Zone special event.

Shrinking Stars contains examples of:

  • Bizarre Taste in Food: Patrick orders pineapple pizza with potpourri.
  • Hope Spot: The shrunken Star family are rescued by Rubedor, who offers to let them live in Schmandor, a futuristic Utopian society. Cecil ruins it by accidentally destroying the city, leaving them running from GrandPat once again.
  • Karma Houdini: Quasar and Pat-Tron receive no punishment for accidentally shrinking the Star family, merely leaving the scene after realizing they've messed up.
  • Gainax Ending: The entire episode was just Sandy observing the shrunken Star family. And then the French narrator is observing her, and another pair of eyes appear behind him.
  • Glass-Shattering Sound: Cecil is so excited by the idea of living in Schmandor, a city made entirely of hand-blown glass, that he begins singing. After one note, the entire city collapses. Rubedor explains that singing isn't allowed there.
  • Inexplicably Identical Individuals: Everybody in Schmandor looks exactly like Rubedor, and Rubedor himself is basically just Rube in a space suit.
  • Mathematician's Answer: Patrick asks Quasar where he's from, and he simply answers "outer space".
  • Mid-Battle Tea Break: Patrick runs away from an angry Pat-Tron, until Cecil comes in and says that they're ordering pizza. Patrick stops panicking to tell Cecil what he wants on his pizza.
  • Shout-Out: Schmandor is one to the Bottle City of Kandor, a Kryptonian city shrunk and put into a bottle by Braniac in the Superman comics.

FitzPatrick

Original air date: 4/11/23

Patrick's long-lost twin cousin, FitzPatrick shows up to ruin his reputation. However, everything Fitz does turns out useless and Patrick takes it all in stride. Until Fitz finds out that Patrick has his own TV show, and sabotages it for himself...

FitzPatrick contains examples of:

  • Ambiguous Situation: WHY exactly doesn't Fitzpatrick feel the need to make people who look like him hated? Is he a narcissist who just hates the idea of someone else looking like him? Or is he just a jerk and picks people who look like him as his main targets?
  • Card-Carrying Villain: FitzPatrick is very open about being evil, and it's shown that "ruining people's reputation" is something he lives to do no matter what.
  • Continuity Cavalcade: The "Patricks from multiple timelines" include Patrick's outfits and designs from many episodes on the main series, such as Patrick-Man, Patnocchio, and Patricia. There's even an appearance of Kamp Koral Patrick.
  • Evil Twin: FitzPatrick, to Patrick. Fitz has an Irish accent and his main goal is to cause misery for others, getting a kick out of cruel acts and insults.
  • "The Hero Sucks" Song: FitzPatrick's first attempt to damage Patrick's reputation is to disguise himself as him, do a bunch of destructive acts at an ice cream parlor, and sing about how bad of a person "Patrick" is (despite the fact that the actual Patrick hasn't done any of this). The Goofy Scoopers sing backup, saying "Patrick Star! Patrick Star!" after every line.
FitzPatrick: Hey there, kids, who ruined your day?
Messed up your music, took your ice cream away!
Remember my name when you scream and cry!
I hope you hate me 'til the day I die!
  • Hostile Show Takeover: Fitz pushes Patrick into his Time Machine, and does the show instead that day. Rather than Patrick's brand of innocent, wacky hijinks, Fitz directly insults the audience and gets them injured.
  • Identical Twin ID Tag: FitzPatrick is a slightly lighter shade of pink than Patrick and has orange hair on his head, but otherwise looks the same. He takes advantage of this by putting his hair on Patrick, misbehaving, then switching back so Patrick gets in trouble.
  • Impersonating the Evil Twin: Inverted. FitzPatrick, the evil twin, disguises himself as Patrick, the "good" twin, while misbehaving, as a way to frame Patrick.
  • Jumping Out of a Cake: FitzPatrick makes his entrance by jumping out of a cake that Patrick "marries" as part of an act on his show.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: When Fitz learns about Patrick's show.
FitzPatrick: You mean... you have your own TV show?
Patrick: Yeah! Every day, it's beamed down to millions of people all over the world! (Beat) ...Or maybe it's just the people out front. I don't know.
  • Nightmare Fetishist: Slappy describes the wedding in a surprisingly creepy way, and actually enjoys being insulted and abused by Fitz.
Slappy: Oh, I love a good wedding. They have almost as much crying as a good funeral.
  • Persona Non Grata: Twice. First, Patrick is banned from Goofy Goober's... but it's a regular thing for him, and the manager always lets him come back. When he's banned from a comic book store, it doesn't bother him, since there are no less than six other comic stores on the same street.
  • The Sociopath: Fitzpatrick was willing to cause excessive property damage, bully children, and endanger people just to ruin the reputation of anyone who happens to look like him (including his own long-lost cousin who is nice and genuinely trying to connect with him). Even saying he hopes that they will hate (that person) until the day they die. It is either because he seemingly just can't stand the idea of someone else looking like him, or because he is a spiteful cruel person who just enjoys ruining other people's lives and goes after people who he can impersonate because its easier. He also has no appreciation for Patrick trying to be nice to him, continuing to be spiteful and trying to ruin his life regardless.
  • That Makes Me Feel Angry: When Fitz insults the audience, Lady Upturn stands up and declares "I am offended!"
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: The Goofy Goober manager bans Patrick from his restaurant for misbehaving every week. However, Patrick always comes back, and the manager doesn't have any long-lasting disdain for him. He even bids farewell to Patrick by telling him to say hi to Cecil for him.
