Starr teaches Jen yoga to help her calm down in the Christmas rush. Meanwhile, Wayne dreams of being visited by three ghosts who want to teach him the true meaning of Christmas.

Tropes:

  • All Men Are Perverts: Every time Jude sees Jen doing yoga he mentions how hot he thinks it is.
Jen: What are you doing here, Jude?
  • An Aesop: Caitlin teaches Nikki, who doesn’t want to go to Acapulco with her parents, that sometimes the best gift you can give someone is to accept a gift from them.
  • Bad Job, Worse Uniform: Connor has a part-time job at the mall for which he has to wear antlers and play a kazoo. It’s his embarrassing outfit that helps Caitlin get over their breakup.
Caitlin: How could he wear antlers?
  • Berserk Button: Jen stresses out every time she hears someone say “Coach Halder”.
  • The Bus Came Back: This is Mr. and Mrs. Wong’s first, and only, appearance in season 2 since they appeared in season 1’s “The One with the Text Message”.
  • Christmas Episode: On Christmas Eve, the group deals with the obstacles of the holidays, from stressful jobs to annoying parents to relationship drama. Meanwhile, Wayne learns the True Meaning of Christmas.
  • Crappy Homemade Gift: Subverted. Jude hand-makes all his gifts for his friends, but the ones that are shown appear to be thoughtful and well-made and his friends love them.
  • Fallen-on-Hard-Times Job: Since being the mall’s security guard doesn’t pay enough, Ron the Rent-a-Cop joins Jonesy at the gift wrapping station to make some extra cash for Christmas.
  • Instantly Proven Wrong: When the big Christmas tree that Jonesy put up in the center of the mall’s skating rink falls over, Wade remarks that at least it didn’t fall on anyone. Immediately after this, someone can be heard calling for help from underneath the tree. Jude then says at least a lot of people weren’t crushed, after which several more people are heard calling for help.
  • Jaw Drop: Wade’s reaction to Wayne making him work on Christmas.
Jude: You look like Santa just brought you a bag of barf.
  • The Last Straw: The handmade ornament that Jude puts on the mall’s giant Christmas tree is what ends up being what causes it to tip over due to Jonesy not securing it correctly.
  • Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title: A reference to the popular Christmas song “Winter Wonderland”.
  • Potty Failure: In a Flashback to his childhood courtesy of the Ghost of Christmas Past, Wayne peed his pants because he didn’t want to miss anything while watching a Christmas movie.
  • The Scrooge: Wayne thinks Christmas movies suck and compares the holiday to getting a colonoscopy. He also decides to keep Underground Video open on Christmas Day. He even gets his own A Christmas Carol lesson in Christmas spirit.
  • Tan Lines: To get her ready to go to Acapulco, Caitlin has Nikki get a spray tan. However, Nikki didn’t know she was supposed to turn half way through and ends up with half her body dark orange while the other half is still pale.
  • True Meaning of Christmas: After being reminded he Used to Be a Sweet Kid, Wayne learns that Good Feels Good and starts spreading Christmas cheer to the whole mall.
  • Under the Mistletoe: Jude makes Jonesy a hat with a mistletoe hanging on it so that girls have to kiss him when he’s wearing it. Jonesy loves it until he turns toward Ron and the idea of being under the mistletoe together freaks them both out.
Ron: Watch where you’re pointin’ that thing, son.
Jonesy: I think I need some space.
  • Yet Another Christmas Carol: Albeit a very brief version. Wayne has a dream in which he’s visited by Jen as the Ghost of Christmas Past, Wade as the Ghost of Christmas Present, and Jude as the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come.
