Recap / Simple Samosa Episode 79 Space Snax

Go To

Samosa and friends take on the challenge of training to enter the cosmos and revive the sun when it suddenly stops burning.

This episode contains the following tropes:

  • Alliterative Title: "Space Snax" repeats the letter "S".
  • Artistic License – Space: Ignoring the people of Earth being able to survive when the sun is out, there is no realism to Samosa using a piece of wood to keep the sun burning.
    • For starters, he's in space, and there shouldn't be any oxygen. Oxygen is needed to start a fire.
    • Secondly, that's not even fire coming out of the sun - it's plasma.
    • Thirdly, the entire sun is made of plasma, so realistically it would be completely gone.
  • Disney Death: Samosa is held off from going back to the rocket ship by all the sun flames, leading everyone to believe the worst until Samosa hits the glass on one of the rocket's windows.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: The gang trains under Elon Mu- (ahem) Melon Musk, a musk melon who has invented an electric car and loves space travel.
  • Punny Name: Melon Musk's name is a combination of a musk melon and the real-life Elon Musk.
  • Ring-Ring-CRUNCH!: The beginning of the episode has Samosa throw his ringing alarm clock into the wall, destroying it, before he notices it being unusually dark outside for the morning.
  • Shout-Out: The space institution NASHTA, naturally, references the real-life NASA. It's also a pun, "nashta" meaning "snack" in Hindi.
  • Solar CPR: The basis of the plot. When the sun suddenly stops glowing, it falls into the hands of Samosa's gang to prepare to make a trip to outer space and light the sun back up. Once there, Samosa, with the help of Doctor Goti Sodawala and Rakesh Shawarma, set a piece of wood on fire to get the sun burning again... which somehow works.
  • Space Episode: The characters go to space to return the sun to its normal bright state.
