Even the brightest stars fall from the sky to light up someone's darkest nights.Or… ''

“My dearest Mamo-chan, you'll never guess what's been happening over here. We suddenly have a new addition to our family! The girls think she might be our second child but Setsuna says that's not possible. If that wasn't crazy enough, two new enemies appear! I'm in some serious trouble!”
Usagi Tsukino

History Repeats when Usagi encounters a mysterious pink-haired girl who fell from the sky and is passing herself off as part of her family. But the similarities don't stop there as a new duo of Sailor Animamates make their debut with a bizarre but nostalgic character dynamic. Also, Setsuna shows up to spectate the events involving the new Sailor Guardians.

Tropes in this episode include:

  • Affably Evil: Aluminum Siren shows genuine courtesy towards her enemies. She even gives a proper introduction and business card to Sailor Moon during their first meeting.
  • Alien Abduction: Minako theorizes that the Starlights are secretly planning to abduct the girls so they can control their brains.
  • Anger Born of Worry: Lead Crow rants to Siren that she came to Earth to watch over her so she can make sure she's actually doing her job and not doing anything that'll risk her life.
  • Bathos: While warning the Inner Girls about how strong their new enemy is and how their Solar System is being targeted, Setsuna reveals that she also has an ice cream to enjoy.
  • Big Eater: One of Siren's defining traits is that she loves to eat and will take any moment to enjoy a good snack. After Lead Crow lectures her about finding the next target, Siren decides she'll take our her giant lunchbox and have lunch first.
  • Call-Back:
    • This episode brings back Usagi's pre-episode introductions which were dropped during the second half of SuperS.
    • The Inner Girls eat their paletas in the same public space featured in Sailor Moon R: The Movie.
  • Cloudcuckoolander's Minder: Lead Crow is running herself ragged trying to get her ditzy rival to take their mission seriously so she doesn't end up like Iron Mouse.
  • Comically Missing the Point: After Lead Crow laments to herself how she lost a valuable rival because of her lackadaisy vices, Siren openly congratulates her.
  • Continuity Nod:
  • Evil Counterpart: Aluminum Siren and Lead Crow are practically Usagi and Rei if they were evil. Like Usagi, Siren is a scatterbrained Big Eater who's also super friendly and courteous with everyone around her. And like Rei, Crow is goal-oriented, hot-blooded and doesn't hold back in pushing her associate to perform better.
  • Fatal Flaw: Discussed. Setsuna and Luna consider Usagi's overly trusting nature to be a potential weakness that can put her in danger with the enemy. But Usagi is shown to make an effort to reach out to the Starlights since they share similar goals and is willing to trust the nouveau petite estranger.
  • History Repeats: Chibi Chibi's introudction is very similar to how Chibi-Usa first became acquainted with Usagi (minus the gun and ransacking her room). The end even features the little girl going to Usagi's room for the night after wetting the bed.
  • How the Mighty Have Fallen: Lead Crow remembers Aluminum Siren as a powerful rival who constantly fought her for the title of Number One Animamate. But now she's become a ditzy food-loving ninny who's been assigned to a godforsaken planet like Earth. Crow even namedrops the trope in the Viz Dub.
  • Hypocritical Heartwarming: For someone whom she claims to be an airhead and a rival that exhausts her to no end, Lead Crow spends a lot of time trying to get Aluminum Siren to take her job more seriously so she doesn't get killed.
  • Insistent Terminology: In the Viz Dub, Crow reminds Siren that they're rivals, not partners.
  • Internal Reveal:
    • Sailor Lead Crow and Aluminum Siren introduce themselves as the new villains to Sailor Moon.
    • Pluto also becomes familiar with Phages and the Starlights.
  • Kid from the Future: Averted. Ami and Makoto theorize that Chibi Chibi is Chibi-Usa's little sister who traveled to the past to have Sailor Moon adventures too. But the Time Guardian Setsuna shoots down that theory by confirming that Small Lady is the queen's only child.
  • Luminescent Blush: Usagi and Minako do this after Rei brings up the possibility of Usagi and Mamoru having another kid.
  • Mood Whiplash: Crow and Siren arrive at the police station to ambush the chief for his Star Seed. Crow gives a rather smug smile as their target heads towards them, waiting for Siren to attack... and then he walks by with Siren doing absolutely nothing.
Lead Crow: Hey, what are you doing?!
Aluminum Siren: Okay, so now do you think I should start exchanging business cards?
Lead Crow (crushing the cookie she took from Siren): You idiot!
  • New Job as the Plot Demands: The Three Lights show up as police rookies for the day. This fits well with Chibi Chibi going missing followed by the Victim of the Week being an esteemed police chief.
  • Not So Above It All: Setsuna reveals to have her own ice cream treat after she warns Usagi and the other girls about the new enemy.
  • Oh, Crap!: Usagi has this reaction after Chibi Chibi appears inside her house followed by Ikuko casually revealing that she's her little sister.
  • Parasol Parachute: Chibi Chibi makes her debut by floating down to Earth while holding a fancy umbrella.
  • Pass the Popcorn: While she doesn't have anything to snack on, Lead Crow enjoys watching Aluminum Siren zero in on the target to get his Star Seed and thus demonstrating the ruthlessness which earned her a high rank in Shadow Galactica.
Sailor Lead Crow: There's my precious rival.
  • Pokémon Speak: Chibi Chibi's go to speech involves saying her prime word. Though she is capable of copying others.
  • The Rival: Lead Crow considers Aluminum Siren to be her great rival and came to Earth hoping she won't slack off and prove herself as anything less.
  • Shout-Out: Sailor Cop looks and behaves like a literal RoboCop.
  • Speak Ill of the Dead: Zigzagged. Siren calls her predecessor incompetent and Crow uses her demise as a warning to her rival to take her job seriously. But Siren does take a moment to mourn Iron Mouse for her cruel fate.
  • Stating the Simple Solution: Luna tells Usagi that they should take Chibi Chibi to the police when they assume that she wandered from her parents.
  • Stealth Hi/Bye: Setsuna shows up out of nowhere while Usagi and friends are spying on Chibi Chibi at the store.
  • Tsundere: Lead Crow wants you to know it's not like she cares about her rival, or anything!
Sailor Aluminum Siren: But, Karasuma-san, I don't understand why you followed me here since I'm the one who was reassigned to Earth, not you.
Sailor Lead Crow: I CAME HERE BECAUSE I WAS WORRIED ABOUT YOU, MY RIVAL!
  • Vagueness Is Coming: Setsuna warns the girls that there's an evil darkness spreading throughout the galaxy robbing stars of their radiance.
  • You Fool!: Lead Crow calls her rival an idiot for suggesting that she exchange business cards with her target.
  • You Watch Too Much X: Rei accuses Minako of seeing too many TV shows after she accuses the Starlights of plotting to abduct them.
