The Three Lights have a day off and Seiya convinces Usagi to join on him on a fun-filled day of leisure. And while counting the seconds before she meets her demise by the hands of her boss Galaxia, Iron Mouse sets her sights on one last target (or set of targets) in the dire hope of finding a Star Seed to save herself.

Tropes in this episode include:

  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: Iron Mouse begs with all her heart for Galaxia to spare her. It doesn't work.
  • Bait-and-Switch:
    • After Yaten rudely hangs up on a caller asking for the Three Lights, Taiki admits that the call worried him. The reason being that Yaten was rude to the caller and not because that was Iron Mouse looking to target them.
    • Usagi looks in awe at an adorable teddy bear keychain which inspires Seiya to win it at the arcade console it's held it. He wins it but keeps it for himself.
    • Seiya takes Usagi to his band's private suite in a dance club and offers to help her with her "first time". He was actually referring to club dancing.
  • Bathos: Even as she's seconds away from being erased from existence, Iron Mouse tries to talk her way out of it by offering a riddle to Galaxia in a pathetic attempt to be spared.
  • Blatant Lies: Ami assures Usagi that she didn't see her being asked out by the teen idol Seiya while sheepishly walking to the side while giggling.
  • The Cat Came Back: No matter where Iron Mouse goes or how much she panics, she can't escape from her black phone insisting that she picks it up.
  • Chekhov's Gun: Seiya wins a pink teddy bear keychain during his friend date with Usagi. He drops it after being attacked by Iron Mouse which is picked up by Sailor Moon when she enters the scene. And Moon openly questioning what happened to Seiya almost leads to hear learning Moon's true identity.
  • Coordinated Clothes: Perfect couple Haruka and Michiru present themselves wearing matching shirts.
  • Cultural Translation: In both versions, Iron Mouse tries grovelling for her life by asking an unsolvable riddle. The Viz dub changed it to the Riddle of the Sphinx.
  • Death by Secret Identity: Iron Mouse learns that Seiya and Star Fighter are the same person. Unfortunately for her, she's killed off before she can put that information to good use.
  • Friend to All Children: After a little boy trips and cries, Usagi goes down to comfort him to help him through his pain.
  • From Bad to Worse: This was not Iron Mouse's best last day. After spending a whole day being chased by the black phone, she finally figures out where Seiya is and attacks him. To her dismay, he escapes and transforms into a Sailor Guardian. Then she's joined by the rest of the Starlights along with Sailor Moon. And just when it looks like Iron Mouse is about to use Star Fighter's Secret Identity against them, she's confronted by the black phone. And it all goes downhill from there...
  • Good-Times Montage: Usagi and Seiya are shown to have a pleasant time going to the zoo and later a public theme park.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Seiya questions Mamoru's worth as a boyfriend by calling him a jerk for not responding to any of Usagi's letters. Despite this, Usagi has faith in him and how he's always thinking of her.
  • Internal Reveal: Sailor Moon and the Starlights get a good glimpse of Sailor Galaxia and her goal of conquering the galaxy.
  • Ironic Echo: Usagi comforts a little boy by saying that "he can't have fun with his friends if he's crying". Seiya would use the same advice on her after she trips and cries a minute later.
  • Mood Whiplash: Minako leaves her friends to see if Yaten is interested in going to the adult movie with her. But when Makoto insists on joining her if she's turned down again, the silly music switches to something suspenseful as Minako pauses and asks for Makoto's attention. After a moment of silence, she asks Makoto if she'd consider buying them for retail price if she's turned down again.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Iron Mouse is aghast with herself over hanging up on Galaxia.
  • No-Nonsense Nemesis: Galaxia doesn’t fall for Iron Mouse’s attempts to prolong her life and kills her on the spot.
  • Pragmatic Adaptation: In the original version, Usagi gently reminds a little boy that "strong boys don't cry" after he fell in front of her. In the Viz Dub, this reason is removed.
  • Secret Identity:
    • After being targeted by Sailor Iron Mouse and after all the club patrons have fled, Seiya transforms into Star Fighter right in front of the villainous producer.
    • Star Fighter almost figures out that Sailor Moon and Usagi are the same person after she frantically asks about Seiya while holding the teddy bear keychain, but she brushes it off in the end.
  • Simple Score of Sadness: Chopin's "Funeral March" plays whenever Iron Mouse wills herself to pick up the phone.
  • So Hideous, It's Terrifying: Usagi and Seiya scream their lungs out while touring a haunted house. They even mistake the ticket person of the house as one of the monstrosities.
  • Stalker without a Crush: As a TV producer, Iron Mouse was able to pinpoint the favorite club that the Three Lights frequently attend. And to her luck, the three of them show up there.
  • This Is Gonna Suck: Yaten declares that their day off sucks after seeing Usagi alongside Seiya in their dance club.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Makoto meekly offers to join Minako to watch her adult movie with her after she's stood up by Taiki.
  • Wham Line: While commenting on Galaxia, Star Maker reveals that she destroyed their home planet.
  • The Workaholic: Even after being blessed with a day off, Taiki would rather use that time to work on some new lyrics for a song.
  • You Can Run, but You Can't Hide: The intercom speaker for Ginga TV says this when calling out to Iron Mouse.
  • You Have Failed Me: Sailor Galaxia says this after finally reaching Iron Mouse in the climax of the episode.
  • You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!: Usagi has this reaction after Seiya tells her to hang out with him.
  • You Remind Me of X: After Seiya pulls Usagi in for a hug of comfort after the power goes out, she thinks back to how Mamoru would hold her tight and promise her comfort.
