Usagi has stabbed herself with the holy sword, and she and Mamoru are out for the count. Queen Metalia sees her chance, and absorbs both of them, along with the Legendary Silver Crystal, into her body, enhancing her power tenfold. Even the Sailor Senshi are powerless against her. There is only one hope for the Earth: the not-quite-dead Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion.

- Adaptation-Induced Plot Hole: It's not explained how the four stones from the Shitennou came to be on Mamoru's person in time to save him from Sailor Moon's sword slash. In the manga, the Shitennou died much sooner and Mamoru took possession of the stones right after being brainwashed by Metalia, but in this version of the story the Shitennou had only just been killed elsewhere during the previous episode.
- Circling Monologue: Metalia circles Sailor Moon while gloating over how she is spreading her darkness across the world and corrupting the hearts of the people, trying to demoralize Sailor Moon into giving up and letting Metalia absorb her.
- Darkest Hour: Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask are out of the fight, along with the Legendary Silver Crystal, and the Sailor Senshi's attack failed against Metalia.
- Pocket Protector: Mamoru's moon-face watch and the Shitennou's stones, respectively, turn out to have saved Usagi and Mamoru's lives by blocking the sword before it could cause fatal injuries.
