- Never the Selves Shall Meet: Future Chase warns his friends not to encounter their younger selves. The rule is thrown out the window when the teenage Alex runs into the future versions of his friends and himself on the bus.
- Ret-Gone: The future selves disappear when their past versions save Gert.
- The Reveal: Future Alex left his younger self a note before they fade away. Apparently, Nico is the one who'll try to kill Alex, but it's never revealed why.
- Set Right What Once Went Wrong: The future versions travel back in time to prevent Gert's death.

- Timey-Wimey Ball: While Runaways is not the first or last installment of the MCU with time-travel in it, this is the only version of time-travel that results in the Ret-Goning out of existence of all instances of the prevented timeline Back to the Future-style, the older versions of the Runaways fading out of existence after they avert Gert's death. Every other style of time-travel presented (Avengers: Endgame, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Loki) portrays timelines as a form of alternate universe spontaneously generated through deviations of fixed points in time.
